The Sierra Leone Roads Authority has opened bids for the Production and Installation of Pedestrian Guard Rails at Strategic Intersections and Replacement of Damaged/Missing Vehicular and Pedestrian Slabs in Freetown.
The exercise was witnessed by stakeholders including representatives from Anti Corruption Commission, National Public Procurement Authority, Civil Society Organizations, the Road Maintenance Fund Administration and Bidding Companies.

African Development Bank on a Preparation Mission to Sierra Leone to assess the condition of the Kailahun-Koindu Road. The team is accompanied by the MRU Team, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Board and Management of the Sierra Leone Roads Authority on an inspection tour on the road and engagement of communities in Kailahun, Buedu and Koindu.
The project will include connecting Koindu with the Liberia and Guinea Borders. So far three donors have committed themselves to funding the project following requests made by the government of Sierra Leone. The African Development Bank, Islamic Development Bank and OFID.

The Bandajuma-Liberia Border Road project has other components in addition to the road and bridges. These include construction of classroom blocks, health centers, markets, water boreholes and community centres among others. This is the biggest donor project in the country in the form of a grant by courtesy of the European Union. The total cost of the project is 105 Million Euros. This excludes the counterpart funding by the government of Sierra Leone in the form of payment of compensation to project affected persons.
