Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh!

On this blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, I extend my heartfelt greetings and warmest wishes to all Muslims in Sierra Leone and beyond. This sacred celebration marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a period of deep reflection, spiritual renewal, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to Almighty Allah (SWT).

Ramadan has been a month of fasting, prayer, self-discipline, and generosity—a time when we purify our hearts, strengthen our faith, and reaffirm our commitment to compassion, humility, and service to humanity. As we gather with our loved ones to celebrate this joyous occasion, let us remain steadfast in upholding the values of peace, unity, and love that Islam teaches.

Eid-ul-Fitr is not just a time of festivity but a moment to reflect on the lessons of Ramadan and carry them forward in our daily lives. It is a reminder that charity, kindness, and helping those in need should not end with Ramadan but should be a continuous practice in our lives. Let us extend our hands to the less fortunate, the orphans, the widows, and those struggling in our communities. Islam teaches us that the best of people are those who are most beneficial to others, and as leaders, citizens, and believers, we must always strive to be a source of goodness for others.

As a leader deeply committed to the growth, prosperity, and unity of Sierra Leone, I urge my fellow Sierra Leoneans—Muslims and non-Muslims alike—to embrace the spirit of togetherness. Our nation can only move forward when we foster peace, tolerance, and respect for one another. The challenges we face as a country require collective efforts, sincerity of purpose, and above all, faith in Allah’s divine wisdom and guidance.

Fofanah Campaign Team held an introductory meeting for Dr. Abu Bakarr Sidique Fofanah as flag bearer candidate under the APC party, meetings held yesterday 26th Feb, 2025 in Tonkolili District, specifically in Magburaka and Masingbi towns. The meetings were attended by the APC District executive members and key stakeholders.

Dr. Abu Bakar Sidique Fofanah: A Visionary Leader for APC Flagbearer

Dr. Abu Bakar Sidique Fofanah is a distinguished Sierra Leonean public health expert, philanthropist, and community development advocate. With a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from Walden University, his research on Type II Diabetes Mellitus among African immigrants underscores his commitment to addressing critical health issues.
For over two decades, Dr. Fofanah has led impactful community development initiatives across Sierra Leone. His contributions include building community centers, hospitals, mosques, churches, and schools, as well as providing scholarships to undergraduate and postgraduate students. His commitment to improving living standards is evident in his efforts to ensure access to safe drinking water across eight districts and his feeding program, which supports vulnerable families, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and those in need.
A strong advocate for food security, Dr. Fofanah has played a crucial role in organizing and empowering farmers for large-scale food production. He has also invested in maintaining feeder roads, improving transportation and accessibility in rural communities. His dedication to infrastructure and development places him ahead of his competitors in the race for the APC flagbearer position.
Beyond Sierra Leone, Dr. Fofanah has been instrumental in supporting the African immigrant community in the United States through research and advocacy, particularly in public health. His generosity extends to healthcare assistance, funding medical treatments, and facilitating surgical interventions for those in need. His unwavering support for the APC grassroots base was demonstrated during the 2024 registration process, where he contributed SLL 250,000 new Leones across multiple districts.
