On attainment of Sierra Leone’s independence in 1961, the Sierra Leone Embassy in Dakar, Senegal was among the third batch of Missions established by Government in 1966. Prior to this date, the Sierra Leone Diplomatic Mission in Guinea, Conakry opened immediately after independence and used to cover Senegal.
