METSIMO – TV STAND United Kingdom, 2009 TV stand is designed and built by Villa and Mansions Architects.
The requirement for the TV stand became necessity when ordinary bog standard glass TV stand with three shelves could not accommodate surround sound speakers, also shortage, lack of storage space for films and DVD’S.

This prompted a need for unique home furniture that fulfils function and is contemporary, innovative, one-off designed piece of furniture.
The stand is designed with floating drawer above the floor, held by chrome finished supports, the drawer and handle bar is set back to minimize traffic collision. Thick vertical legs give the stand modern solid looks.

The TV stand is built by V&MA in London, UK, and is in use.

MASCA – PLANT VASE

Vase is designed for raised terraces, to act as a barrier, kerb and also as gateway passage. Vase can be used in gardens alongside garden benches, plant beddings, or in the roof terraces where planting is restricted.

AMASSO – PLANT VASE

Aesthetically refined curves give the Amasso vase elegant look which complements its surroundings. Vase is designed for multipurpose and can be used in inside or outside of dwellings. Mixture of sharp corners and smooth curves gives the vase a stylish look, at the same time with rigid construction base.

MEDIANO – DECORATIVE VASE

Design of interconnecting circles gives the vase a stylish profile and unique look. The vase is use as a water container in North African and Middle East regions. Vase is designed as decorative element to complement terraces, patio seating and interior decorative element.

United Kingdom, 2010-2011
Contemporary architect’s desk has been designed to a specific design brief. The brief was to design a new desk that could accommodate a drawer for papers and desk accessories, space for a printer on lower shelf. A space for a full tower computer, ventilated from rear and sides with a concealed cable management.
Top part of the desk is ‘floating’ above the main desk base. This unique design over-sail allows the drawer compartment and drawer handle to be set back from the edge, and minimise any collision. The top part of the desk allows for easy cleaning and when the desk is against a wall gap could be used as storage.

Villa & Mansion responded to the brief with design of elegant Architects Desk which not only fulfils the required brief, but designed a unique desk that is functionally practical, but also aesthetically pleasing.

The desk is built and is in use in London, UK.

A Planning application for a two bedroom family cottage, located in the small town of Yeroskipou in the south of Cyprus. The Cottage was originally designed as a timber construction, although the client preferred a masonry and white render that is widely used in the region. The internal layout of the cottage consisted of 2 bedrooms with en-suites, family bathroom, storage, kitchen with breakfast area and large living/dinning space, with floor to ceiling glazing that provided plenty of light and panoramic views.
The development site is on a narrow plot of land with the cottage positioned to take advantage of the plot by using the front of the house for 2 car-parking spaces and a landscaped area. The rear garden includes a round shaped summer house and computer games room. The summer house has tinted glazing and an extended cantilevered canopy. The landscaping consists of native trees and shrubs to provide the cottage with a welcoming view and allow the cottage to blend with the local landscape.
The security wall surrounding the plot of the cottage, including cast-iron railings is providing security while the height of the wall does not obstruct views. All components of the cottage, including the metal security gate with glazed insets, which provides a modern entrance have been very carefully designed and thoughtfully thought through.

Construction Supervisors and Workers in Mogadishu Training Course for Site
Supervisors and Operational Managers held in Mogadishu, Somalia. Couse is funded by UN Habitat & EU. 10 Weeks course with 2 sessions of morning and afternoon. Teaching Somali contractors, supervisors and engineers how to build and manage construction. Teaching students from engineering universities of Banadir, Mogoadishu and Jamhuriya. Teaching theoretical & taking participants to site visits for practical sessions, on site experience. Presenting live experience gained while I worked in UK, also on Health & Safety requirements.

THE FAA REGENT’S 5* HOTEL
Planning application for proposal of new build large-scale contemporary hotel building for the suburbs of Hargeisa city, in Somaliland. The FAA Regent’s hotel consists of 300 rooms, shopping mall, 5 restaurants, conference hall, 4 swimming pools, meeting rooms, 2 tennis courts, employees canteen and apartments, car rentals and wedding halls.

The new proposed development will improve the local area in many ways, the contemporary hotel design and associated surrounding buildings would uplift the architecture of the local area. Including through creation of jobs, the hotel is categorized as large-scale development, and would require many numbers of employees to make hotel function properly, this in return creates jobs.
