After the Eid al-Adha prayer at Chuien Ayak Square in Abyei, attended by many from the Somali and Sudanese communities, a delegation of worshippers visited the General Secretariat of the Abyei Special Administrative Area.

They were welcomed by the Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agencies, Hon. Kuol Agang, and other officials. The meeting included Sheikh Yusuf Lal and involved exchanging congratulations for the holiday, with an emphasis on promoting peaceful coexistence and unity among the Area's diverse communities.

THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY CELEBRATES THE EID AL-ADHA PEACEFULLY IN ABYEI AREA:

Earlier today, the Muslim Community in the Abyei Special Administrative Area performed the Eid al-Adha prayers at Freedom Square.

They prayed to Allah to bring this noble occasion back to the entire Islamic nation, especially to the Muslim community in South Sudan, wishing them goodness, blessings, and prosperity.

Following the prayers and the completion of the Eid sermon, Sheikh Yusuf Laal Ayom, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Council in the Abyei Area, extended a cordial welcome to Hon. Molana Kuol Agany Dau, the Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agencies, who represented the Chief Administrator, HE. Justice Charles Abyei Jok, at this momentous celebration of Eid al-Adha prayers. The Sheikh further acknowledged the participation of the broader Islamic community in the Abyei Area and conveyed his gratitude to the National Government and the Islamic Council of South Sudan, commending them on this festive occasion and lauding their commitment to fostering security, stability, and the practice of religious freedoms and rituals, while wishing them joy, health, and well-being.

wish them a blessed Eid al-Adha filled with goodness and happiness, and that this holiday is an opportunity to draw closer to God and strengthen family and social bonds. We also wish that it brings them beautiful times and happy memories, and that God accepts their good deeds. .

THE CHIEF ADMINISTRATOR SUPERVISES THE LAUNCH OF LIVESTOCK VACCINATION IN ABYEI AREA:

Today, Monday, March 25, 2025, the Chief Administrator of the Abyei Special Administrative Area H.E. Justice Charles Abyei Jok, attended the kickoff of the livestock vaccination campaign (cattle and livestock), overseen by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Resources, and Fisheries of the Abyei Special Administrative Area, led by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Resources, and Fisheries, Hon. Ngolueth Dut Piot, together with the Director General and his team, and in the presence of the Paramount Chief Dr. Bulabek Deng Kuol.

The vaccination campaign initially targets 2,000 head of cattle. According to the General Director of the Ministry, Mr. Deng Guc, all cattle have been brought from neighboring villages to Wunruk for vaccination, which will cover all diseases and epidemics affecting livestock in general.

During the launch, the leaders participated in administering the first vaccinations to livestock, including cattle, small ruminants, and poultry, demonstrating their commitment to strengthening the livestock sector and supporting local communities. Following the official launch at Wunruk, veterinary teams immediately began the wider vaccination exercise to ensure livestock are protected against common diseases.

In his statement, Minister of Agriculture Hon. Ngolueth Dut Piot conveyed that the Ministry of Agriculture has formally initiated the vaccination process in the area subsequent to their communications.

This is the kickoff, supervised by the Chief Administrator H.E. Justice Charles Abyei Jok, and the vaccination will continue for twenty days. The Minister emphasized that the campaign forms part of ongoing efforts to improve animal production, food security, and the livelihoods of pastoralist communities across the ares. In conclusion, we thank everyone for their cooperation with the ministry for the benefit of the area in preserving our diverse resources.

THE CHIEF ADMINISTRATOR PARTICIPATED IN THE LAST PRAYERS OF THE LATE FORMER CHIEF ADMINISTRATOR KUOL ALOR IN ABYEINTHONY:

Yesterday, March 23, 2026. His Excellency Justice Charles Abyei Jok, the chief administrator of the Abyei Special Administrative Area, alongside his wife, took a moment to convey his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family of the late Brigadier General Justice Kuol Alor Kuol during the final prayers at his residence in the Abyeinthony neighborhood.

His Excellency Justice Charles Abyei Jok expressed his condolences to the family of the late Brigadier General Justice Kuol Alor Kuol and acknowledged his contributions to the area.

A heartfelt tribute was held for the late Brigadier General Justice Kuol Alor Kuol, attended by various government officials from the Abyei Area, including Hon. Tiop Dau, commissioner of Abiemnhom County, who represented the Ruweng Administrative Area. The gathering also featured the Paramount Chief, several chiefs, members of civil society, and a diverse group of youths and women from the community, all united in expressing their condolences and celebrating Kuol's legacy.

Through their presence, they demonstrated the impact he had on their lives and the collective respect he garnered throughout the area.

THE BODY OF THE LATE. HE. BRIG.GEN. JUSTICE KUOL ALOR KUOL, HAS ARRIVED IN ABYEI AREA AND FINALLY LAID TO REST IN ABYEI THONY.

Wednesday, May 20, 2026:

Earlier today, the body of the legal scholar, Brig. Gen. Kuol Alor Kuol (Kuol Alor Jok), the former Chief Administrator of the Abyei Special Administrative Area, arrived in the Abyei Area via Agok Airstrip in Rumamer County. The body was received by the current Chief Administrator of the Abyei Special Administrative Area, HE Justice Charles Abyei Jok, accompanied by governmental officials from both the legislative and executive branches, supported by all security apparatus and regular forces from various units.

The reception ceremony was attended by various segments of civil society, including traditional leaders, youth representatives, women, and prominent figures from the Ngok clans, as well as relatives of the deceased.

The proceedings for the burial took place at his final resting place in his hometown of Abyei Thony, with a large attendance from family, in-laws, several leaders from Abiemnom County, including the Commissioner.

Family members, relatives, friends, and well-wishers have gathered to pay their final respects to the late Brig. Gen. Kuol Alor Kuol, in Abyei Thony.

May his soul find eternal peace and serenity in the gentle embrace of the heavens, where he can rest without any pain or sorrow.

In a momentous achievement aimed at fortifying harmonious coexistence between the two sisterly communities of Abyei and Aweil, and following a protracted series of comprehensive discussions spanning three days, from May 13 to May 15, 2026, the respective governments of the Abyei Special Administrative Area and Northern Bahr el Ghazal State enacted resolutions and recommendations poised to facilitate the establishment of enduring peace.
