Peaceful response to a sister who lacks knowledge of how Aweilans maintain their peace and the issues affecting our youths ✌️.

Advocating on community issues requires seeking knowledge of that problem, such that when you come to the public and make a call, at least 90% will agree while others debate. Now, what have you gotten?

If you wish to understand social issues and contribute to society even by voicing a concern, it is always good to have a better understanding of local issues, their root causes, consequences, and any other contributing factors.

The issue of dowry payment is one of the main contributing factors to many conflicts and acts of violence happening in most parts of the country, including neighboring states.

As a social worker and activist who has engaged in several community issues in Aweil and South Sudan as a whole, I believe we need to move from marriages honored based on the number of cows to marriage agreements built on mutual understanding, trust, love, and a commitment to support each other.

We do not need to pressure our men or demand that they steal to pay our dowries for marriages that will not last. I am glad our brothers do not "buy" us, but instead, take us based on love, understanding, and respect.

I wish you had weighed the impact of your words. Coming out to back the myth that Aweil is "cheap" is something you should apologize to the public for.

The inauguration of the President of the Presidential Council of the Government of Peace comes under the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of Sudan of 2025, which provided for the cancellation of the transitional constitutional document of 2019 and all previous laws, decisions and decrees.

The Constitution identified several basic tasks of the Transitional Peace Government, including stopping and ending wars, establishing a just and sustainable peace and establishing the Sudanese state on new foundations.
