Earlier this week, news of a Swedish s*x competition had taken the internet by storm. Reports suggested that the newly declared ‘sport’ would see extensive sessions that could go up to six hours daily and involve audience votes and competitive s*xual exchanges. But as the story gained momentum, factcheckers stepped in to clarify. While there is a slight kernel of truth to the claim - the proposal for a s*x competition had been rejected in April this year.

The Swedish Federation of S*x had reportedly applied to become a member of the National Sports Confederation, with its chief Dragan Bractic batting for the now infamous competition. Earlier reports claimed that the European S*x Championship was going to start on 8 June and span over a period of six weeks. Participants would engage in s*xual activities from 45 minutes to 1 hour daily, depending upon the duration of their matches.

The report claims that the audience will also influence the decision of the s*x competitions and will notice several aspects of the s*xual activity. The final decision on the winners will be arrived at after considering the factors like the chemistry between the couple, knowledge about s*x, endurance level, etc.

The now debunked report also laid special emphasis on the participants' knowledge of ‘Kamasutra’ - the Sanskrit scripture on s*x and eroticism. Reportedly it would have played a role in the decision making, with participants get points on the basis of their knowledge regarding the knowledge of ‘Kamasutra
Social media has since been filled with diverse reactions from users with people supporting the move to remove the inhibitions related to s*x while others expressed skepticism.

Hon. Okach Mangisto Agueri, the Commissioner of Lafon County in Eastern Equatoria state Lafon Commissioner has denied being among 40 suspected poachers arrested in Juba on Monday for possessing bush meat, saying he was just a passenger using public transport.

Commissioner Okach Mangisto Agueri apologized and acknowledged the poaching, describing it as “unfortunate.”

According to the Minister of Wildlife Conservation and Tourism, the arrested were smuggling bush meat from near the Badingilo national park.

The 70-sacks of bush meat were confiscated in four vehicles.

Minister Rizig Zacharia Hassan said the arrest is part of an anti-poaching campaign his ministry launched to protect wildlife species and animals.

He said the suspects will soon be arraigned in court.

The Director General of the wildlife service, Lt. Gen Khamis Adieng said some of the arrested include the commissioner of Lafon County and members of organized forces.

“It is very unfortunate that the Commissioner is Convicted [a suspect] among the others, but it is now the court that will differentiate between the constitutional post holder and the other suspects,” said Lt. Gen. Adieng.

For his part, the commissioner of Lafon says he was just using public transport as a passenger, adding that he regretted poaching activities by members of his community.

“Indeed, it has been a very unfortunate incident that happened on the 21st, and then the 22nd of January 2023,” Commissioner Okach said.

“As a county authority, I need to apologize on behalf of the community in Lafon County, which was involved in this kind of illegal killing [poaching],

“In my journey, it has coincident that we used a public car because it is not a government car, we used a public car, and you know the public car has got a different activity,

“These are the business people. So, we happen to be in one car. But generally, I need to acknowledge and apologize.”

The government has on several occasions warned people against killing wild animals.

Two people commit su***de in Wau.

A man of 30 and a boy of 14 years old commit su***de in Wau of Western Bhar El Ghazal state on Saturday.

Zahra Juma, the mother of the deceased narrates that her son Abraham Taban works at Jou market and he is married with children but he impregnated a girl where he was charged to pay 75,000 thousands as a fine.

She explains that the deceased was jail for three days by his in laws and after his released on Saturday, unfortunately he was found dead on Sunday morning.

His mother adds that her son commit su***de by hanging himself.

In a similar incident in Hai Jebel, Alhaj Saeed whose son is 14 years old says that his son Yasin Alhaj a student at Bright Future Primary School hangs himself on Saturday.

He explains that they didn’t had any quarrel with their son in the past few days wondering what made their youngest son to take such kind of decision.
