GOVERNOR OF UNITY STATE, H.E. RIEK BIM TOP, OFFICIATES THE OPENING OF THE MOBILE COURT IN SOUTHERN UNITY STATE.

Leer, Monday, 23rd March, 2026___ H.E. Riek Bim Top, the Governor of Unity State, officiates the opening ceremony of the Mobile Court in Southern Unity State, with the center in Leer County.

The opening ceremony was attended by government officials, traditional leaders, community representatives, and members of the legal fraternity, among others.

In his opening remarks, Governor Bim emphasized the importance of access to justice for all citizens. Saying the mobile court will help to reduce the backlog of court cases and ensure timely and fair trials for all.

The mobile court will have jurisdiction over civil, criminal, and family cases in Southern Unity State (Panyijiar, Leer, Mayiendit, and Koch counties) based on the needs and demand for legal services. The leadership of H.E. Riek Bim Top, the Governor of Unity State, is committed to ensuring that all citizens have equal access to justice and that their rights are protected and upheld.

Bentiu, Saturday, 21st March, 2026—The Governor of Unity State, H.E. Riek Bim Top, has returned to the capital, Bentiu, following the successful restoration of peace tour to Mayom County.

In the course of the peace mission, Bim managed to engage community leaders, spiritual leaders, and other stakeholders on the importance of sustainable peace, unity, and reconciliation.

Upon this trip, Governor Riek Bim Top also held a series of meetings with community leaders on challenges affecting the local communities, including the need for safe water for community use and the strengthening of essential services delivery.

H.E. Riek Bim Top, the Governor of Unity State, remains determined to continue working towards lasting peace and development in Unity State.

Mayom, Friday, 20th March, 2026__H.E Riek Bim Top, the Governor of Unity State welcomes the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid El Fitr.

"Today, as our Muslim brothers and sisters celebrate Eid El Fitr, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to them," Governor Bim said. The Governor also called for unity and tolerance among all religious communities in the state. "Unity is one of the core principles of our state, and it is imperative that we continue to promote peace, harmony, and understanding among all religious groups," he said.

Eid El Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. It is a time for forgiveness, reflection, and celebration.

Kualkuony, Friday, 13th March, 2026___H.E. Riek Bim Top, the Governor of Unity State, extends the peace initiative visitations to Riah Payam, calling for peace and reconciliation.

During this visit, H.E. Riek Bim Top, the Governor of Unity State, urged the civil population to accept peace and reconciliation for solving internal conflicts between the communities. Saying the mechanism is the best tool for rebuilding wrecked community coexistence.

In a heartfelt ceremony, the Governor of Unity State, H.E. Riek Bim Top, paid tribute to Chol Geah, the founding father of the Bul land known today as Mayom County.

In this poignant occasion of honor and remarkable event, Governor Bim was accompanied by a huge state government delegation, local authorities, and spiritual leaders to the site in Naamyuor.

Communities deeply appreciated Governor Bim for this historic event, commendable gesture, and heritage act.

Gool, Kueryiek Payam, Sunday, 8th March, 2026___H.E. Riek Bim Top, the Governor of Unity State, convened with local authorities in Kueryiek Payam on the importance of serenity in the neighborhood.

The conference included strategies for conflict resolution, peace and reconciliation, community development plans, and involvement of youth and women in peacebuilding efforts.

This initiative is a continuation of the series of planned engagements with local communities in Mayom County to promote peaceful coexistence and address community differences.

Koatne/Terkeah, Ruathnyibol, 7th March, 2026—The Governor of Unity State, H.E. Riek Bim Top, opens Buul Denglothchom, representing the return of the initial festive season practice. This initiative targets young people, engaging them with peace activities.

Sequentially, after the end of the opening celebration, Governor Bim with his delegation proceeded to Terkeah, the ancestral land of the late spiritual leader Mut Turoah Nyewei, to slaughter a Bull at the tomb site, signifying his honor and respect for the deceased's greatness.

Ruadhyibol, Friday, 6th March, 2026—The Governor of Unity State, H.E. Riek Bim Top, arrives in Ruadhnyibol Payam.

Upon arrival, H.E. the Governor, accompanied by the State Minister of Land, Housing, and Public Utilities, Hon. Stephen Kueina Gatjiek, took to the sites for inspection of the ongoing survey in the town. "This new development is strategically aiming at transforming the town to an urban town," the Hon. Minister said.

After the inspection and assessment of the plots allotted for the government institutions, schools, markets and pitches, H.E. Riek Bim Top, the Governor of Unity State, proceeds to Koatne Village to visit spiritual leader Denglothchom in his resident.
