The State Ministry of Information and Communication has formally invited media houses including, but not limited to; SSBC, EBC, Radio Miraya, Eye Radio, Sama FM, Bakhita Radio, City FM, Radio One and Capital FM in Juba to cover and broadcast the opening and closing of Central Equatoria State Government performance review workshop scheduled for tomorrow the 18the day of August 2021 from 9am to 4pm for three days at the State Legislative Assembly hall.

We are glad that some of the media houses have already confirmed their presence. However, we kindly urge the followers of our page and those who already have received the copy of the official invitation including this message to circulate it widely particularly to newspapers and other media outlets.

Ministerial Order for deployment of press secretaries to all ministries and counties of Central Equatoria State signed by Minister of Information and Communication. The same order also assigned directors and their deputies to various directorates as heads of units in the ministry.

Those with access to radio can follow the announcement on EBC radio and SSBC.

GOVERNOR EMMANUEL HOSTS DINNER FOR THE GREATER EQUATORIA PARLIAMENTARIANS FOLLOWING THEIR SWEARING IN CEREMONY INTO THE REVITALIZED TRANSITIONAL NATIONAL LEGISLATURE

JUBA.03.08.2021-Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony together with the National Minister of Environment and Forestry,Hon.Josephine Napwon have organized a get together party in honor of the newly appointed parliamentarians especially the Equatorian SPLM parliamentary caucus following the trust and confidence bestowed upon them by the top leadership of this country.

This development comes a day after their swearing in ceremony that was presided over by President Kiir yesterday in Freedom Hall making a potential breakthrough on the reconstitution of the revitalized Transitional National Legislature with over six hundred membership as stipulated in the revitalized peace deal.

Speaking during this gracious occasion,both speakers asserted on the following;

01- Congratulated the wise leadership of president Kiir for bestowing trust and confidence and pledged their full support to the party and the leadership.

02- Calls for unity of purpose among the legislators to enable the reconstituted transitional National Legislature to deliver up to it’s mandate and meets the aspirations of the people of South Sudan in their various constituencies that they represents.

03- To work in a collegial manner irrespective of their political belonging,tribes and religion and set a precedent for a legislature that is issues driven than politically driven;citing that the newly sworn in parliamentarians should embrace speaking for the people than for their party as a way to move this country forward

04- Reaffirms commitment to rally behind the leadership of President Kiir in the implementation of the Revitalized peace deal both in letter and spirit.

05- Urges members to forgive, reconcile and forget the past and open up new chapters for realization of peace and tranquility across the state

NB:The occasion brought on board,Advisors to the President,the leadership of the just reconstituted transitional National Legislature,leadership of council of states,Governor of Jongeli state,National Ministers,Parliamentarians,Central Equatoria state cabinet,Civil society representatives, religious leaders,signatories to the revitalized peace deal and other men and women from the different walks of life.

Reflection on today's meeting

July 23, 2021

Presided over by Rev. Dr. Hon.Andruga, the State Minister of Information and Communication in Central Equatoria, the meeting was attended by six heads of departments including the Director General. Although it was a brief introductory meeting, participants were able to arrive at the resolutions outlined below; thanks to the style of moderation.

1. To enhance the ministry’s financial and human resource capacity to better serve the honorable citizens of Central Equatoria State under the leadership of Hon. Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony
2. To depoliticize the ministry and focus on achievement of its vision and mission of the ministry
3. To explore better ways of collaborating with Equator Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) to facilitate interaction between the state government and the community
4. To curb misinformation by a) immediately issuing official statement of the State government and b) deploying press officials in all government institutions as official sources of information for the State government

The meeting took place in a relaxed and friendly context with less regard to protocol. It was brief, interactive and conclusive yet more of learning and sharing of ideas.

"I like working with young people so that I remain young" - Rev. Dr. Hon. Andruga

The newly appointed minister of Information & Communication for Central Equatoria took oath of office today and was immediately escorted to his office. In his remarks, he pledged to work with and learn from each and every staff of the ministry. The accompanying delegation was led by Hon. Sarah Nene Redento, deputy Governor of CES including the minister of cabinet affairs among others.

The Ministry of Information & Communication thanks the leadership of Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony for the wise decision to fill the vacancy and hopes to do more and better.

1. First phase of mapping revenue sources done

2. Process of asset recovery takes shape – legal administration of the State (CE) in picture

3. Announcement of re-deployment of senior staff and press people soon to be done (next week)

4. Mini studio to be set up (steel camera plus accessories already obtained)

5. The Ministry also plans to develop (to be supported by external ideas) official communication strategy for the State to guide information gathering and reporting

6. Director General has proposed to the acting Minister a motion to be tabled before Council of Ministers for deliberations; out of which a high level committee is expected to be formed to embolden the Ministry in its attempts to recover its assets currently illegally possessed and/or occupied

A team of eight staff of the State Ministry of Information & Communication in Central Equatoria is currently inspecting private media companies such as photo & recording studios, internet cafés, advertisement companies, etc. as an attempt to identify and establish its potential revenue sources. This exercise is currently ongoing in Munuki, Juba and Kator Quarter Councils and will last for seven days or more. The exercise is also aimed at establishing the exact number of private media companies, their legal statuses and physical addresses in Juba and Central Equatoria State at large. The team will later produce a report that will guide the Ministry in exploring better ways of working together in light of the recent politicals changes within the context of the Revitalised Agreement as well as the Re-vitalized Government of Central Equatoria.

Tuesday/Wednesday June 8-9, 2021
Ministry represented by Director General in a two-days child protection workshop facilitated by National Disarmament Demobilisation and Reintegration Commission (NDDRC) with support from UNMISS and UNICEF at Dembesh Hotel, Juba. The action plan for the Ministry of Information and Communication from this workshop is to develop a strategy of sharing the knowledge acquired from the workshop first with staff of the Ministry and secondly with the public.

Thursday/Friday June 10-11, 2021
The Ministry concluded a two-days orientation workshop for press secretaries and reporters who expressed readyness to start their work once deployed to the ministries. The workshop was financed using local resources of the Ministry.

Tuesday June 8, 2021
Director General hosted by Capital FM 89.0 where he discussed the structure and mandate of the ministry including the plans of the ministries and opportunities of working together with partners

Friday June 11, 2021
Director General represented the Ministry at the launching of the constitutional review process for the Revitalised Central Equatoria State Government at Nyakuron Cultural Center
