MINISTERIAL ORDER N0. 04/2026, TO ESTSBLISH HIGH-LEVEL COMMITTEE FOR REVIEW OF CRUDE OIL SALES, MARKETING ACTIVITIES, AND RELATED COMMITMENTS:
Juba, Friday, April 10, 2026, Hon. Dr. Santino Ayuel Longar, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum, has chaired the important meeting, in presence of Senior Technical Advisors, Directors General, National Consultants, among others, on the Committee for review of Crude Oil Sales, Marketing Activities, and related commitments, which formed by Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabiordit, Minister of Finance and Planning, through the Ministerial Order.
The High-Level Committee is chaired by Hon. Dr. Santino Ayuel Longar, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum, duptized by Hon. Malual Tap, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Planning, with membership of senior Technical Advisors, Directors General, both Legal Administors, among others.
The aim of this High-Level Committee, is to review on Crude Oil Sales, Marketing Activities, and related commitments in the sector, he stressed. Hon. Dr. Langsr reiterated, the sector has the internal and external challenges, and that was why the two sisterly Ministries, including the Bank of South Sudan, should work diligently, transparency, and accountability, to improve the economy.
Dr. Ayuel, has emphasized that, the concerned institutions should work hand in hand through cooperation, coordination, and well communication, to do this task, that could support the sustainability of the economy of our country.
Equally, Eng. Lual Chol Dak, Director General for Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority, said that, the importance of the formation of this High-Level Committee is to review on the said Crude Oil Sales, by speeding up within the 90 days, as stipulated in the Ministerial Order, and the Committee should copped other members necessary.
The meeting was productive, fruitful and successful.

Ministry of Petroleum Holds Joint Meeting with SPOC Company to Discuss Operational Challenges:
Juba, Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the Ministry of Petroleum held a joint meeting with SPOC Company, chaired by Hon. Dr. Santino Ayuel Longar, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum, in presence of Senior Technical Advisors, national consultants, Directors General, among others. The meeting has focused and discussed the current operational challenges, which proposed the practical solutions to be submitted to the Ministry for joint review and the development of effective implementation mechanisms.
Discussions were specifically addressed the airport fencing issue, fuel pricing challenges, budget approvals, and security matters related to operations.
Participants have emphasized on the importance of transparency, accountability, and continued cooperation to address delays, that highlighting the government's commitment to the increasing of oil production and enhancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
The meeting also stressed the need to strengthen crude oil marketing and ensure sustainable revenue for national development.
This meeting, was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen strategic partnership and support the oil sector as a key driver of the national economy.

Juba, Monday, March 30th, 2026, the new Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum, Dr. Santino Ayuel Longar, officially assumed his duties in the presence of executive leaders, senior Technical Advisers, National Consultants, Directors General, and a number of officials and entire employees.
The event involved a handing over ceremony between the outgoing and incoming undersecretaries, during which the most fundamental achievements and challenges facing the petroleum sector were reviewed. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of continuing to implement strategic plans aimed at developing the increase of oil production and enhancing transparency and accountability.
In his address, the new Undersecretary, Dr. Santino Ayuel Longar, has expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in him by His Excellency, the President, Salva Kiir Mayardit. He affirmed his commitment to working collaboratively with all departments and employees, stressing the need to boost increase of oil production, adhere to regulatory frameworks, and strengthen relationships.
He noted that, the focus is on achieving a balance between foreign interests and national priorities to ensure the sector's growth and stability.

For this part, the outgoing Undersecretary, Dr. Chol Deng Thon Abel, commended the cooperation he received during his tenure and called for continued efforts to achieve further accomplishments. He pointed out that, the Ministry faced the risk of closure due to the war in Sudan, not intervention, but rather the protection of facilities.

Abel, has received the body of late Kenneth Allian Kuanda, Director General for for Administration and Finance, along with his accompanied team from the Ministry of Petroleum, immediate family, relatives, friends, and colleagues, vat Juba International Airport. The Casket was brought from Nairobi - Kenya.
Juba, Friday, March 27th, 2026, Eng. Dr. Chol Deng T. Abel, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum, has received the remains of late Kenneth Allian Kuanda, Director General for Administration and Finance, Ministry of Petroleum. The mourners were converged in the Juba International Airport, from immediate family, relatives, in-laws, friends, and colleagues. Hon. Dr. Chol Deng, was accompanied senior Technical Advisers, senior officials of the Ministry of Petroleum, among others.
Eng. Dr. Chol Deng, has expressed his tribute about the late Mr. Kuanda, as a senior civil servant, Director General for Administration and Finance, Ministry of Petroleum,, and he served the Government for more than 40 years, with integrity, nationalism and dedication as senior civil servant.
On behalf of the Ministry of Petroleum, and my own behalf, with heavy heart deeply profound, May Almighty God give the bereaved family a solac and comfort during this difficult moment a patience and strength. And May Almighty God rest his precious precious soul in eternal peace. Amen.

Juba, Wednesday, March 2026, the Ministry of Petroleum has announced the discovery of the new Al-Nahla field, which holds immense potential for increased of oil production from a single well in Blocks 3 and 7 in Paloch oil fields in Upper Nile State, which has reached 5,440 barrels per day.
This announcement was made during a Press Conference held by Hon. Dr. Chol Deng T. Abel, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum, at the ministry's headquarters.
Dr. Chol confirmed the increase of oil production is from 95,000 to 100,000 barrels per day, noting that the total number of currently operating wells is 696.
He emphasized that, encouraging continued exploration and development, especially given the high global market prices, will generate further revenues for economy of the country.
Dr. Chol indicated that a portion of the revenue will be allocated to production partners, pipeline and transportation fees, and producing communities, with another portion designated for future generations and the state.
For this part, Dr. Ling Zongfa, President of DPOC's Oil Company, expressed their commitment to continuing making exploration in the Al-Nahla field and other sub-fields. The Press Conference, was productive, fruitful and successful.
