We have safely returned from a short mission to the State of Qatar, where we participated in the Global Security Forum.

Our sincere appreciation for the warm reception accorded to us by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Hon. Gen. Marial Chanuong Yol; Gen. Santino Deng Wol, Chief of Defence Forces of the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF); and other senior officials at Juba International Airport.

The mission, led by Hon. Tut Gatluak Manime, Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs, provided an important opportunity to engage with senior defence officials from other nations and exchange views on emerging global security challenges.

Such engagements are vital in strengthening international cooperation, deepening mutual understanding, and exploring collective approaches to addressing evolving security threats.

Together, we remain committed to advancing peace, security, and international cooperation.

As we concluded our official engagements in Doha, I was proud to lead my delegation on a courtesy visit to our embassy to appreciate the remarkable work being done on the ground.

Our Head of Mission, H.E. Ambassador Lily Adhieu Manyiel, alongside her team of dedicated diplomats, exemplifies true public service.

Their hard work and seamless coordination were instrumental to the complete success of our mission in Qatar.

I personally thanked Ambassador Adhieu and her diplomats for their warm reception and outstanding coordination.

Thank you for flying the South Sudanese flag high and representing H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit and our nation with immense pride!

As we concluded the three-day Global Security Forum in Doha, I had the privilege of attending a memorable dinner hosted by our Head of Mission, H.E. Ambassador Lily Adhieu Manyiel, in honor of our Head of Delegation, Hon. Tut Gatluak Manime, Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs.

I sincerely thanked Her Excellency for her warm reception and exceptional hospitality.

It was a wonderful evening, and I hope to reciprocate her kindness in the future! 🤝🇸🇸

On the sidelines of the second day of the Global Security Forum, I was cordially received at the Ministry of Defence by H.E. Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, Minister of State for Defence Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of the State of Qatar.

I was accompanied by South Sudan’s Head of Mission to Qatar, H.E. Ambassador Lily Adhieu Manyiel.

During our meeting, I conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of our President, H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, to the leadership and the hospitable people of the State of Qatar.

Our discussions focused on strengthening defense cooperation and advancing strategic bilateral relations between South Sudan and Qatar.

On Monday, October 19, 2026, my delegation and I arrived safely in Doha, where we were honored to receive a deeply gracious and warm reception from senior officials of Qatar’s Ministry of Defence at Hamad International Airport.

We express our profound gratitude to the Government and Ministry of Defence of the State of Qatar for their outstanding hospitality, courtesy, and flawless organization.

Grounded in a shared commitment to regional peace and stability, our team enters this three-day summit ready to engage responsibly and constructively with global defense leaders to advance our mutual security interests.

I have departed Juba for Doha, State of Qatar, alongside Hon. Tut Gatluak Manime, Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs leading a high-level delegation from the Government of the Republic of South Sudan to participate in the premier Global Security Forum.

Attending at the gracious invitation of the Government of the State of Qatar, this three-day forum provides a vital platform to deliberate on pressing global security challenges, deepen strategic ties, and we will present South Sudan’s perspective on regional peace, stability, and collective security.

I extend my deepest gratitude to our President, H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, for his wise leadership, stewardship, and continuous trust in our mission to advance South Sudan’s national security interests and defense diplomacy on the international stage.

It is with deep sorrow that I pay tribute to another fallen icon, Brig. Gen. Sunday Kelueljang Alapayo, who passed away following an illness.

The parade was our last and only opportunity to pay our respect and honour to one of our own during this difficult moment.

His passing is a great loss, and his selfless service to our beloved country will forever be remembered.

Rest well, my friend. Your legacy of service will live!

Today mark a solemn Friday at Bilpam Headquarters as my Deputy, the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), and I gathered with our fellow officers to pay our final respects and honors during the military parade funeral for our fallen comrade, the late Brigadier General Sunday Kelueljang Alapayo.

We stand in profound humility as we reflect on his extraordinary legacy. Brig. Gen. Kelueljang was a true liberator who dedicated over 21 years of selfless service and sacrifice during our country's liberation struggle.

His courageous efforts and unwavering loyalty to our nation will forever be etched in the history of South Sudan.

On behalf of the Ministry and the entire leadership, I extend my heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family, friend, colleagues, and our entire nation as we grieve this immense loss.

May God grant his family comfort and fortitude during this painful time, and may the soul of our great hero rest in eternal peace. 🇸🇸🕊️

Fanan Franco is always there to boost our morale, demonstrating the ever-resilient spirit of our gallant forces.

It is time for us to work together to improve our defence system and build a strong, united, and professional defence force capable of safeguarding our nation.

I also had the opportunity to receive the historic order issued by our President, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, establishing the National Defence University. This is a significant step towards building a professional army through education, specialized training, and the development of military leadership in our beloved country.
