Encouraging South Sudanese youth to unleash their creativity and innovation for brighter futures!

Yesterday, at the launch of the "Youthful Youth Programme" on SSBC TV, I joined UNFPA Country Representative to address a diverse audience of youth. We emphasized the importance of harnessing creativity, innovation, and other abilities to enhance their livelihoods.

It's vital for our youth to seize opportunities and realize their potential.

We’re proud to unveil the new logo of the Ministry of Youth and Sports! This emblem represents our dedication to empowering youth, consolidating peace, and advancing sports in South Sudan.

Today, I had the honor of briefing H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit on the progress and plans of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Our initiatives include reforms like the Youth and Sports legal framework, sports development policy, South Sudan youth policy, and launching the Ministry's logo and website. We've also organized successful basketball elections and forged strong partnerships with our development partners.

I’m also excited about the preparations for the Bright Stars’ participation in the Paris Olympics and the upcoming commissioning of Juba’s national football stadium.

The President praised our achievements and pledged his unwavering support for our plans.

Today, I had the privilege to meet with Turkish Ambassador to South Sudan, Erdem Mutaf, alongside officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

We discussed various areas of mutual interest, including the prospect of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between our ministries.

Ambassador Mutaf expressed Turkey's commitment to supporting youth empowerment and capacity-building programs in South Sudan, including scholarships for sports studies in Turkish institutions.

We also explored avenues to enhance sports infrastructure, such as the construction of the Mayardit Sports Complex and the provision of artificial turfs across the country.

I'm grateful for the longstanding relationship between our nations and look forward to further cooperation to benefit our youth in sports and entrepreneurship.

We agreed to continue our discussions and hold more meetings to strengthen the partnership between our institutions.

Had an insightful meeting today with H.E. Qiang, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to South Sudan. Discussed various aspects of youth development and sports policies. Presented our priorities in sports, including the construction of the Salva Kiir Mayardit Sports Complex and procuring artificial turfs for all states and Administrative Areas. Grateful for China’s support in advancing sports and youth development.

A great pleasure to meet Mr. Kamal and his team from Plan International today. We discussed the areas of collaboration and laid the groundwork for an MoU that will enhance our joint efforts in youth development, sports, economic empowerment, civic education, and innovation.
