The Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of South Sudan, H.E. Per Enar Enarsson, today paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Dr. Costello Garang Ring Lual, Advisor to the Presidency on Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the South Sudan Patriotic Movement (SSPM), at his office in Juba.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on a range of issues of mutual interest, with particular focus on strengthening cooperation between the European Union and the Government of South Sudan. Discussions highlighted support for South Sudan’s peace process, political stability, and enhanced collaboration aimed at fostering inclusive governance, institutional development, and sustainable national progress.

Hon. Dr. Costello Garang Ring Lual reaffirmed the Government’s unwavering commitment to peace, dialogue, and constructive engagement with international partners. He emphasized South Sudan’s readiness to work closely with the European Union, the African Union, and regional stakeholders to advance national priorities and promote sustainable development for the benefit of all citizens.

Hon. Dr. Costello Garang Ring Lual, Advisor to the Presidency on Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the South Sudan Patriotic Movement held a cordial meeting at his office with Ambassador. Gregory Bledjian, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of South Sudan.

During the meeting, Dr. Costello welcomed the Ambassador and commended Germany’s longstanding and constructive role in supporting peace, development, and stability in South Sudan. He emphasized the strong historical ties between the two countries and expressed appreciation for Germany’s continued humanitarian and development support.

Ambassador Bledjian reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with South Sudan, highlighting ongoing support for peacebuilding and institutional stability. He also stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in cultural, economic, and development sectors.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation and maintaining sustained dialogue in areas of mutual interest.

Dr. Costello Garang Ring Lual Pays an Official Visit to the Vice President.

Dr. Costello Garang Ring Lual, Presidential Advisor and Chairman of the South Sudan Patriotic Movement (SSPM), paid an official visit to H.E. Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan and Chair of the Services Cluster, H.E. Josephine Joseph Lagu, at her residence, where he received a warm and respectful welcome.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed the importance of strengthening cooperation and joint action in the national interest, highlighting the need to promote political stability and national cohesion.

The discussion also focused on matters related to the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA). Both sides emphasized the need to work together as a united bloc, upholding national responsibility, and addressing any narratives or allegations aimed at undermining the alliance or creating divisions within it.
Dr. Costello Garang Ring Lual reaffirmed that H.E. Vice President Josephine Joseph Lagu is the legitimate leader of SSOA, calling on all members to unite under her leadership and work collectively toward shared national goals.

As Deputy Chairman of SSOA, Dr. Costello reiterated his unwavering commitment to work closely with the alliance’s top leadership, under the guidance of the Vice President, to advance toward new horizons that serve the aspirations of the people and strengthen nation-building efforts.

Dr. Costello Garang Ring Lual Meets the Minister of Foreign
Affairs and International Cooperation.

Hon. Dr. Costello Garang Ring Lual, Presidential Advisor and Chairman of the South Sudan Patriotic Movement, held a meeting today in his office with Hon. Ambassador Monday Semaya Kumba, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The meeting discussed several national issues of mutual interest, focusing on strengthening coordination and joint efforts between the Presidential Advisory Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two sides also exchanged views on current political and diplomatic developments, emphasizing the crucial role of foreign policy in supporting stability and strengthening South Sudan’s relations with neighboring countries and the international community.

Dr. Costello Garang Ring Lual stressed the importance of national unity, institutional cooperation, and harmonized efforts to serve the country’s higher interests, highlighting the vital role of diplomacy in promoting peace, development, and international partnerships.

For his part, Ambassador Monday Semaya Kumba expressed his appreciation for the constructive meeting, reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to close cooperation with all national institutions to achieve the country’s vision and enhance South Sudan’s regional and international engagement.

شارك الدكتور كوستيلو قرنق رينج لوال، مستشار رئيس الجمهورية للشؤون الرئاسية ورئيس الحركة الوطنية لجنوب السودان، في مراسم استقبال فخامة رئيس الجمهورية بمكتبه الرسمي، وذلك عقب انتهاء إجازة عيد الميلاد المجيد ورأس السنة الميلادية.
وجرت مراسم الاستقبال بحضور عدد من نواب ومستشاري وموظفي مكتب الرئيس، في أجواء عكست روح المسؤولية الوطنية وبداية عام جديد يحمل آمالًا متجددة لشعب جنوب السودان.

The SSPM would like to categorically clarify the misleading claims arising from a photograph currently being circulated by Hussein’s group, which falsely suggests a reconciliation between the SSPM Chairman Dr. Costello Garang Ring Lual and Hussein Abdelbagi, a former Acting Deputy Chairman who was dismissed from the party on the 20th February 2025.

The photograph in question is not recent. It was taken in March, 2020, six years ago and is being deliberately recycled to mislead the public and create a false narrative.

The SSPM Chairman did not reconcile with Hussein and has no plans whatsoever to reconcile with him. Any claims or implications to the contrary are entirely false and should be disregarded.

The public is urged not to be misled by outdated images being used for propaganda purposes.

في ظلّ التحديات الكثيرة التي واجهها بلدُنا خلال السنوات الأخيرة — من صعوباتٍ اقتصادية، وانعدامٍ للأمن، وحالةِ عدمِ اليقين بشأن المستقبل — أودّ أن أتقدّم بخالص الشكر لشعب جنوب السودان ولأصدقائنا في جميع أنحاء العالم لأنهم لم يفقدوا الأمل.

إن تاريخنا، والقيم التي ورثناها عن عائلاتنا وكبارنا، تذكّرنا بأن الكرامة والاحترام والوحدة أقوى من أي أزمة. وعندما نصغي إلى بعضنا البعض، ونعامل بعضنا باحترام، ونضمن أن ينشأ أطفالُنا في سلام ويحصلوا على التعليم، فإننا نضع أساسًا قويًا لغدٍ أفضل.

New Year Message from the Chairman Hon. Dr. Costello Garang Ring Lual

Amid the many challenges our country has faced in recent years; economic hardship, insecurity, and uncertainty about the future, I would like to sincerely thank the people of South Sudan and our friends around the world for not losing hope.

Our history, and the values passed down to us by our families and elders, remind us that dignity, respect, and unity are stronger than any crisis. When we listen to one another, treat each other with respect, and ensure that our children grow up in peace and with access to education, we lay a strong foundation for a better tomorrow.

As we enter 2026, my hope is that we choose trust over fear, dialogue over suspicion, and togetherness over division—within our homes, our communities, and our nation.

May this New Year bring strength, good health, and new opportunities to us all.

Agriculture minister accused of misleading presidency over armed forces - Radio Tamazuj A senior commander in the South Sudan Patriotic Army (SSPA) has accused Agriculture Minister and

General Agany Abdelbagi in press statements:

Juba – Al-Mauqif

* Hussein Abdelbagi’s talk about handing over forces to the government is a “big lie.”

* We handed over all forces since the beginning of the implementation of the security arrangements.

* The movement’s forces were handed over to the government, and Hussein Abdelbagi is currently recruiting from Juba.

* Recruiting forces inside “Juba” in the name of the South Sudan Patriotic Movement (SSPM) constitutes a violation of the Peace Agreement.

* I am the actual commander responsible for the movement’s army, and Hussein Abdelbagi knows that. Our Chairman is Costello Garang.

* The government should conduct an on-the-ground investigation to verify the lies of “Hussein Abdelbagi.”
