In preparation for the upcoming ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2026 (PP-26) in Doha, Qatar, I joined our Chairperson of Board Tejwok Ajak and Director of Spectrum Eng. Dut Acol de Dut in a high-level briefing with the Caretaker Minister of Presidential Affairs, Africano Mande Gedima and the Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Cecilia Adut Manyok.
During the meeting, the ministers provided strategic guidance to ensure our delegation effectively represents and defends South Sudan’s national interests and voting positions throughout the conference.
The ITU Plenipotentiary Conference is the highest decision-making organ of the International Telecommunication Union ITU, held every four years to set global ICT policies, adopt strategic plans and elect leadership. Representing South Sudan at PP-26 from November 9 to 27 is critical for our country. It presents a vital opportunity to engage with international member states, shape global telecommunications governance, advance digital development and secure strategic partnerships that will strengthen South Sudan’s national ICT infrastructure.
