Thank God they have not harmed him and everyone is safe.

South Sudan and Ethiopia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen economic ties through a major road connectivity project.

The agreement was advanced during a high-level meeting in Juba between Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel and an Ethiopian delegation led by Amb. Girma Biru, Senior Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister, and Finance Minister Ahmed Shide. South Sudanese officials included Finance Minister Athian Diing Athian and Central Bank Governor Dr. Addis Ababa Odhow.

The two sides reviewed earlier commitments made by President Salva Kiir and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, with discussions extending to infrastructure, energy, air transport, telecoms, banking, human resource development, and petroleum.

Vice President Bol Mel urged swift implementation, emphasizing that improved connectivity would boost trade, create jobs, and expand opportunities for citizens.

Vice President Bol Mel Welcomes Senior Presidential Envoy Adut Salva Kiir

Juba, South Sudan – Vice President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel today received Hon. Adut Salva Kiir, Senior Presidential Envoy for Special Programs, during a courtesy visit to his office.

Dr. Bol Mel congratulated Hon. Adut on her recent appointment, describing it as a testament to President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s commitment to entrusting capable and compassionate leaders with national responsibilities.

The meeting focused on advancing the special programs initiated by the President, with an emphasis on ensuring their swift and effective implementation to improve public services, strengthen livelihoods, and create new opportunities across the country.

The Vice President pledged the full support of the Economic Cluster toward the envoy’s mandate and encouraged other clusters to rally behind her efforts.

He also urged citizens to extend their support, noting that Hon. Adut’s distinguished record in humanitarian and community service uniquely positions her to succeed in her new role.

“With her leadership, the vision of H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit will be translated into practical action that reaches every household,” Dr. Bol Mel affirmed.

Juba – Hon. Angok Arthur Akuien Chol has issued a statement addressing what he described as the misinterpretation of the term “Wun Weng”, originally coined by his uncle, Ateny Wek Ateny.

In his remarks, Hon. Angok cautioned individuals attempting to politicize or exploit the term, stressing that both H.E. Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel and Hon. Adut Kiir Mayardit remain united on the same team.

“Our focus must remain on finding solutions for our nation’s economic recovery and stability. United, we remain strong. It is our collective responsibility as citizens to ensure the steady growth of this nation,” he stated.

Hon. Angok further reaffirmed his commitment to national unity and progress, concluding his message with a call to action: “Forward we move!”
