โThe leadership of the SPLM Hai Khartoum Political Club held a meeting with the Central Equatoria State Minister of Health, Hon. Joyce Bakwa Agole, to discuss key health concerns affecting the community of Hai Khartoum.
โ
โDuring the meeting, Cde. Andrea Taban, the Director of Hai Khartoum Political Club, together with Ms. Tereza Osman, briefed the Minister on the urgent need for a health facility in the area to improve access to healthcare services for the community.
โ
โCde. Andrea Taban assured the Minister that the community has already identified and prepared a plot of land for the establishment of the health facility, which will serve the residents of Hai Khartoum and surrounding areas.
โ
โIn response, Hon. Joyce Bakwa Agole welcomed the initiative and promised to engage the Ministry of Housing, Land and Public Utilities to ensure proper land documentation and legal procedures are completed before the establishment of the health facility.
โ
โThe leadership of the Political Club further appealed to the Ministry of Health to provide health awareness campaigns and community education on airborne diseases and other public health concerns affecting the residents of Hai Khartoum.
โ
โHon. Joyce Bakwa Agole appreciated the leadership of the SPLM Hai Khartoum Political Club for their visit and commitment towards improving the health sector within the community. She reaffirmed her maximum support to the people of Hai Khartoum, emphasizing that access to quality healthcare remains a priority for the State Ministry of Health.

โThe meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration between community leadership and the government in strengthening healthcare services and promoting public health awareness across Central Equatoria State.

โThe Central Equatoria State Minister of Health, Joyce Bakwa Agole, today paid her first official visit to the Juba Nursing and Midwifery Institute since her appointment, aimed at assessing the institutionโs operations and encouraging students pursuing health-related training.
โ
โThe institution, established in 2013, continues to enroll students from various counties of Central Equatoria State as well as other parts of South Sudan including Aweil and Pibor among others.
โUpon her arrival, Hon. Joyce Bakwa Agole was warmly welcomed by the students and later briefed by the Principal of the institution, Roda Samuel, on the operations and progress of the school.

โSpeaking during the meeting, Dr. Abe, Director of the Juba Nursing and Midwifery Training Institution, appreciated the Minister for visiting the institution and highlighted key achievements made by the school, including the increasing number of students and the strong academic performance registered over the years.
โ
โIn her remarks, Hon. Joyce Bakwa Agole commended the administration of the training institute for their commitment towards building the health workforce in the state. She encouraged the administration to strengthen advocacy efforts and continue improving the quality of training.
โ
โShe also pledged to engage County Commissioners to ensure continuous support for students enrolled from different counties across the state.
โ
โThe visit reaffirmed the State Ministry of Healthโs commitment to strengthening health training institutions and improving healthcare service delivery through capacity building and professional development.

โThe Central Equatoria State Minister of Health, Hon. Joyce Bakwa Agole, paid a courtesy visit to the EPI Vaccine Store as part of her continued engagement with departments under the State Ministry of Health.
โ
โHon. Joyce Bakwa led a delegation from the State Ministry of Health, comprising the Director General, Deputy Director of Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC), and other staff members, to assess the operations of the vaccine store and understand its functionality as a key unit within the ministry.
โ
โDuring the meeting, the delegation was briefed by Dr. Abdallah, the EPI Manager, on the various departments within the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) unit. He highlighted the unitโs ongoing activities, achievements, challenges, and the way forward to ensure the smooth and effective running of the department.
โ
โDr. Abdallah also conducted a tour around the facility, guiding the Minister and the delegation through the vaccine storage systems and explaining the cold chain management processes used to preserve vaccines.
โ
โIn her remarks, Hon. Joyce Bakwa appreciated the EPI staff for their continuous dedication and commitment to service delivery despite the challenges facing the ministry. She encouraged them to remain committed to serving the people with humanity and professionalism.

โThe Minister further pledged to strengthen advocacy efforts and provide continued support to the EPI department in order to enhance immunization services across Central Equatoria State.

โThe State Minister of Health, Joyce Bakwa Agole, today convened a meeting with partners and implementing partners of the State Ministry of Health to discuss preparedness measures against the Ebola outbreak reported in neighboring countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.

โDuring the meeting, Hon. Joyce Bakwa briefed the partners on the current situation and emphasized the importance of strengthening the State Ebola Task Force Committee to enhance surveillance, monitoring, and rapid response mechanisms across the state.
โ
โThe Minister highlighted the ongoing activities of the County Health Surveillance Teams, particularly in the bordering counties, noting that they are closely coordinating efforts to ensure any suspected Ebola cases are immediately detected and reported for prompt action.
โ
โHon. Joyce Bakwa further confirmed that the Task Force teams both at the state and county levels is remain vigilant, alert and committed in safeguarding the health and safety of the population.

โShe assured the public that the situation remains under control and that the government, together with its health partners, continues to closely monitor developments and implement preventive measures.

โFinally, the Government of Central Equatoria State reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to strengthening the healthcare system, improving health facilities, and protecting the wellbeing of the people through coordinated public health interventions and partnerships.
