Background of OFAD South Sudan
The Organization for Agriculture and Development (OFAD) South Sudan is a national, non-governmental, non-profit organization established to support vulnerable communities affected by conflict, climate shocks, poverty, and food insecurity across South Sudan. OFAD was founded in response to the growing humanitarian and development needs of rural and conflict-affected populations, particularly women, children, youth, and persons with disabilities.
OFAD South Sudan is legally registered and operates in close collaboration with national and state authorities, community leaders, civil society actors, and international partners. The organization adopts a community-driven and participatory approach to ensure local ownership, sustainability, and accountability in all its interventions.
With strong technical experience in food security, livelihoods, protection, disaster risk reduction, WASH, health, education, and peacebuilding, OFAD works to strengthen community resilience, promote self-reliance, and contribute to long-term recovery and development. The organization prioritizes gender equality, social inclusion, conflict sensitivity, and accountability to affected populations in all its programs.
