Deputy Governor of Lakes State, Hon. Poth Madit Dut has today graced the International Women’s Day on behalf of Governor, H.E Lt. Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor.
Hon. Poth started by reminding the celebrants that women are the true game-changers in our today's world politics and leadership. He brought to the light that the future of this country lies in the hands of women just like in Liberia, Ethiopia and Tanzania that were and still rule by the women.

He called out women to actively participate in politics and leaders, but not in the kitchens. Poth said, for all these to happen, two things have to happen; that's eduction and political participation. That this is the only way to lift this country up from the deep chain of abject poverty.

Hon. Poth also stressed the need to protect rights of women and equality is rest assured.
He also reiterated and reconfirmed the child marriage as a crime as it’s already outlawed. " A girl child belongs to school. Any violation should be subjected to criminal procedure." Poth echoed.

" Take every girl or boy going-school to school. It’s our responsibility as a government to let school-aged boy or girl go to school. And in the meantime, It’s our collective failure that we’ve failed you to deliver services to you. It's a matter of time for things to be put into place. He emphasised.
Mama Nyacut, the first lady of the State, called out women to respect the personality of their husbands. She said, " When you're away, don't expect your husband to cover up shores work in the kitchen. You also shouldn't degrade the name of your husband in his absence. Respect him and stay in your shoes as a woman. "
She also urged parents to put girl child education as a number priority follows by agriculture for a liberated society of South Sudan.

Tuesday, February 14/20203 - Hon Deputy Governor Poth Madit Dut officiates the State Level Consultation Forum on Disaster Risk and Management Bill in Rumbek, Lakes State.

The Consultation Forum is being organised by the Ministry of Humanatrian Affairs and Disaster in partnership with IOM. In his key notes address, Hon. Poth applauded the Ministry and IOM for Consultation in making laws. He also said there's need to have enough time for participants to produce positive outputs for a safer South Sudan.

Hon. Poth reminded the audience that it's not only flood that's a great threat to life but other things are more grave than that.
In his closing remarks, he requested IOM and partners to review issue of V.I.P being quite expensive and more demanding than ordinary in transportation sector.

CLARIFICATION ON DEPUTY GOVERNOR'S STATEMENT DURING WORLD AIDS DAY

" Given the alarming rates of HIV/AIDs death and infections in the State - there's a need to have a mandatory test when one visits hospital for other diseases test. If you're going to get tested of malaria, typhoid, or any other disease, then HIV/AIDs test should also be included. "

No one was forced by Deputy Governor to get tested in the hospital for HIV/AIDs. Neither, did he say one wouldn't be allowed to get a job when he's HIV/AIDs positive. This was never on Hon. Deputy Governor's Order No.01/2022

Hon. Deputy Governor Poth Madit Dut attended and officially opened International Day to End Impunity on Journalists at Hillview Hotel, Lakes State - Rumbek.

In his remarks, Poth shed a few points before he officially opened it. That's by recognising roles of media and journalism in good governance, that media is also a fourth arm of governance in the modern society. He, on the other hand strengthened the fact that with unethical and unprofessional, poor reporting and choosing of wrong words can be dangerous on that individual politicians. So it's backfired to your journalistic work.

Hon. Poth said, for journalism and media to thrive; there's need to have proper training and education needed. He furthered input that Impunity doesn't have space in him as a second powerful leader in the State, but on the occasion that law has to take its full course to trial journalists.
He also recognised the presence of one of the NCAC members and shared with him the need to enact laws that protect journalists.
Lastly, he emphasised that no Impunity is entertained when journalists execute character assassinations on individuals.
In attendance were SSPDF, Police and NSS members.

3rd September 2022, Lakes State, Rumbek

Honourable Deputy Governor Poth Madit Dut receives and welcomes World Bank delegates from Juba this morning in Rumbek Airport. The delegation came to assess the sub-projects that are being funded by the world Bank. In the State, World Bank is supporting Logoseed, Construction of Waterpoints supervised and implemented by UN agencies and ECRP ( the Enhanced Community for resilence and local governance Project.

Hon. Deputy Governor expressed his government delightedness to the world Bank for the support rendered to the communities that are being affected. Poth said, the impact is already felt on the ground by the locals. He further asked the delegation to extend their support in areas of infrastructure like fixing the internal Community roads within and outside the State.
On the same token, deputy governor politely asked delegates to revisit 8 counties where projects like Waterpoints are being funded. He said, 4 out of 8 counties with their payams like Rumbek Centre, Rumbek North, Awerial and Cueibet have the impact of an improved livelihoods less felt.
Hon. Poth finally wished the team a safe travel assessing their sub-projects within and outside Rumbek as security and safety is rest assured.

Hon. Deputy Governor Poth Madit Dut welcomed good number of soldiers at Secretariat General Office. They soldiers are journeying to Cantonment area, Wau as graduation of Unified Forces nears.
They shared with him transport challenge which Hon. Poth positively responded.

Attending the GEAR ( General Education Annual Review ) Conference at Hillview Hotel, Lakes State, Rumbek.
In attendance is Hon. Minister of General Education and Instructions - RSS, Madam Awut Deng Achuil, Hon. Governor of Lakes State, Rin Tueny Mabor and Deputy Governor, Hon. Poth Madit Dut plus all the Education fraternity members. The conference will be a 3-day conference.

Hon. Deputy Governor Poth Madit Dut who's a chairperson of the SPLM-IO in Lakes State has today welcomed senior party members to the State for party launching and its leadership organisation.

The team from Juba was led by the Secretary General of SPLM-IO, Cde Regina Joseph Kapa, State National Mps, Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Agok Makur and many others.

Upon the arrival, Hon. Deputy Governor briefed the public on the need to have political space and freedom of expression and assembly to every citizen in the country. He also acknowledged the security improvement in the State and urged everyone to feel at home and Interact freely.

Cde Regina Kapa who's delegated by Dr. Riek Machar, FVP of the Republic of South Sudan and Chairman of the SPLM-IO conveyed the message of greeting from Dr. Riek Machar to the people of Lakes State and that he will soon pay a visit.
She, on the same note, appealed to the people of South Sudan to acquaint themselves with information that the agreement has been extended by all the parties for people of South Sudan to have enough time to right the wrong. And this includes, political right to everyone that encompasses political education, freedom of expression and assembly.

The team and the public trooped to the part's Secretariat building to familiarise themselves with before the two-day conference convenes.

Disregard the news that are making rounds on social media that the recent disengaged wrestling Association of Greater Bhar El Ghazal which is supposed to be Lakes State Wrestling Association in Juba has its Chairman reinstated back by the governor.
This is a pure hyper-propogated information that's designed to counter the confirmation of the legitimate body which is LSWA that just happened today in Lakes State Coordination Office.
Therefore, the order is still in place and effective and Lakes State government has officially recognised the interim leadership of LSWA until elections are held.
