As of the 2 pm EDT NHC Advisory, Hurricane Melissa is a Category 2 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph and is moving northeast at 15 mph. The center of Melissa is located 195 miles west of Providenciales.

Tropical storm force winds and heavy rains are still likely for Providenciales, North Caicos, and Middle Caicos later today into tonight. While, the islands of South Caicos, Grand Turk, and Salt Cay can expect windy conditions with a chance of showers this evening.

DDME Advises: RESUMPTION OF OPERATIONS: Friday November 16, 2018.
Information received from the Bahamas Meteorological Office has indicated that the tropical wave has passed the TCI. Inclement weather conditions that occurred today is not expected tomorrow. However we may experience sporadic rain. The public is therefore advised that normal operations-schools and Government Offices will resume tomorrow Friday November 16, 2018.
