The Embassy of Ireland in Thailand and our partners are pleased to invite you to the Irish Literature Festival 2026, held in conjunction with Bloomsday 2026, a literary celebration that commemorates 𝑼𝒍𝒚𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔, James Joyce’s masterpiece, while also celebrating the works and enduring legacy of Irish writers from different eras.
Through panel discussions, exhibitions, and book sales, participants will have the opportunity to explore the world of Irish literature, discover the diversity of Irish writing, and learn about Ireland’s role as the birthplace of writers and literary works that continue to influence global literature.

จากท่านทูตเเพท เบอร์น "ผมมีความยินดีเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่ได้ต้อนรับและเป็นเจ้าภาพให้กับทีมนักกีฬาหญิงจากสโมสร Ballinteer St. Johns GAA ซึ่งเดินทางมาเยือนประเทศไทยในสัปดาห์นี้ครับ

นักกีฬาเยาวชนกลุ่มนี้ล้วนมีความโดดเด่นทั้งในสนามกีฬาและด้านการศึกษา โดยกำลังศึกษาในหลากหลายสาขา อาทิ วิทยาศาสตร์ ความยั่งยืน การศึกษา วิศวกรรมศาสตร์ รัฐศาสตร์ นิติศาสตร์ การพาณิชย์ระหว่างประเทศ การสื่อสาร และอีกหลายแขนง พวกเธอล้วนเป็นผู้นำแห่งอนาคตจริงๆ!

สิ่งที่น่าประทับใจไม่แพ้กันคือ ทุกคนตระหนักและเห็นคุณค่าของการเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของชุมชนของกีฬาเกลิคฟุตบอล (GAA) ทั้งในด้านการเล่นกีฬาเป็นทีม การดูแลสุขภาพและสมรรถภาพทางกาย ตลอดจนการเดินทางและการเปิดรับประสบการณ์จากโลกภายนอก

การเยือนครั้งนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากคุณดาราห์ คอนนอลลี (Daragh Connolly) และเพื่อน ๆ จาก Thailand GAA (Gaelic Football) โดยมีเป้าหมายเพื่อส่งเสริมให้นักศึกษาหญิงในระดับมหาวิทยาลัยยังคงมีส่วนร่วมกับกิจกรรมของ GAA และโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งกับสโมสรท้องถิ่นของตนเอง

ผมรู้สึกยินดีอย่างยิ่งที่ได้พบกับพวกเธอ และหวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่าจะมีโอกาสต้อนรับคณะในลักษณะนี้อีกในอนาคตครับ"

Delighted to welcome and host the visiting Ballinteer St. Johns GAA Clun women’s team, who are touring in Thailand this week. Great bunch of young athletes excelling in their studies across a range of fields including Science, Sustainability, Education, Engineering, Politics, Law, International Commerce, Communications and more – future leaders all.

And each of them really understands and appreciates the value of being part of a GAA community, of team sport and fitness, and of travel and engagement with the wider world.
The visit is part of an initiative supported by our Daragh Connolly and our friends at Thailand GAA aimed at encouraging young women at University to stay involved with GAA and especially with their local clubs. I really enjoyed meeting them and I hope we will have the chance to welcome more groups like this in the future.

"Proud to support pride! 🏳️‍🌈

I was honoured to contribute as a panellist at the Bangkok Pride Forum yesterday. I spoke about the role that diplomacy and Embassies can play in support of efforts to achieve equality and rights for LGBQIT+ communities.

Ireland shares with our European Union friends and partners a strong values-based dimension to our foreign policy, so for us this is a very important part of what we do every day. Work at the multilateral level, and especially at the UN, has become more challenging in recent years, but it is still vital to ensure the centrality of the Universal Charter and to defend and promote respect for human rights globally.

Our Embassies have a key role to play, and this can range from discreet advocacy to public solidarity, communicating our stories and examples of good practice and positive experience., and our support can also be practical and concrete, including through financial support for civil society partners.
In Thailand, I truly appreciate the fact that the environment and conditions here allow me as a foreign Ambassador to be part of an event like the Bangkok Pride Forum and to shout out Ireland’s support for our friends in this community.

Unfortunately, that is not the case in many parts of Asia. However, even if it is not possible for it to be so visible, please always know that EU and Irish diplomacy is always working to advance human rights.

From Ambassador Pat Bourne "We had the opportunity today to celebrate the recognition by the Thai authorities of Geographic Indication (GI) status for Irish whiskey. We marked the occasion with a special event hosted with visiting European Commissioner Christophe Hansen at the EU Pavilion at the ThaiFex Expo.

I was delighted to be joined also by friends from the Irish Whiskey Association, Jameson, Glen Keen, Boann, and other Irish whiskey producers.
In honour of the moment, when the EU also registered the GI status of a specific category of Thai coconut water, a Thai mixologist created a new Irish whiskey and coconut cocktail, ‘Green Lips’ for the toast.
