Partners for Prevention is a UNDP, UNFPA, UN Women and UNV regional joint programme for gender-based violence prevention in Asia and the Pacific.
Partners for Prevention (P4P) is a UNDP, UNFPA, UN Women and UNV regional joint programme for gender-based violence prevention in Asia and the Pacific that provides new knowledge and technical support to prevent gender-based violence (GBV) in the region. Partners for Prevention recently celebrated its learnings as well as the end of its 10-year work on prevention of violence against women in the .
One of the greatest lessons that came out of the programme is that violence is not inevitable and it can be prevented. Read this article to find out how investment in prevention programmes is key to tackling the issue and stopping gender-based violence before it happens.

In Asia and the Pacific, about 15% to 68% of women suffer physical or sexual violence in their lifetimes at the hands of a partner, and worldwide, 1 in 3 women experience intimate partner violence in their lives.
After 10 years of working in , , , and , Partners for Prevention helped build respect and gender-equitable attitudes towards women and girls among boys and men in particular, and more widely among families and communities.
Now that the programme is coming to an end, we hope that our success story will inspire others to invest in prevention programmes and that the successes can be replicated and up scaled further in and globally!

To address , Partners4Prevention supports a programme in Kampong Cham province , which engages young adolescents to learn about gender equality and how to create a happy home through non-violent communication skills, conflict-resolution techniques and safe stress management.

Thanks to the support provided by the project in Bougainville, Papua New Guinea, Lucy, victim was able to advocate and encourage her community to adapt nonviolent conflict resolution practices.
Now she resolves conflicts between neighbors, friends and foes using non-violent, gender-equitable techniques she learnt through Partners4Prevention!
