Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has ordered urgent talks with Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur imposed a temporary ban on imports of five Thai shrimp species from June 1.

The government said it is seeking a solution that protects trade ties while shielding shrimp farmers, exporters and fishermen from the impact. Authorities are also preparing measures to prevent a drop in farm-gate shrimp prices and exploring alternative export markets.

Snellere verbindingen
Meer economische groei
Moderne infrastructuur voor het noorden van Thailand

Thailand blijft duidelijk investeren in de toekomst. 🇹🇭

Public groups are pressing the government to overhaul Thailand’s fuel-pricing structure within seven days, saying oil prices could fall immediately by 7 baht per litre.

Their proposals include scrapping the import-parity pricing formula, capping refining margins, reviewing biofuel subsidies and ending fuel-fund collections from motorists.

The Energy Ministry says urgent proposals will be sent to the minister for consideration, while authorities are also investigating 166 suspected oil-hoarding cases.
