Lord Fakafanua and his spouse, Lady Krystal Fane Kite, graduated from JSIA’s flagship MA in Diplomacy, Law and Business (2018). His journey from the classrooms of JGU to national leadership exemplifies the University’s commitment to academic excellence, global engagement, and leadership in public service.
JGU takes immense pride in this extraordinary achievement and extends its heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Lord Fakafanua. His success is an inspiration to our students and alumni across the world.

Congratulations to the Hihifo Kindergarten in Lifuka, Ha’apai!
The $50,000 USD grant will be utilized to upgrade the kindergarten’s infrastructure, creating a safer and more supportive learning environment for the children of Lifuka.

🇹🇴🤝🇮🇳Appointment of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Tonga, Nuku’alofa, Friday, 6 June 2025
The official appointment of Lady Fane Fakafanua as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of
India to the Kingdom of Tonga, with residence in Nuku’alofa, has been formally confirmed.
The appointment was recognised during a special ceremonial presentation of the Letter of
Exequatur by the Prime Minister of Tonga, Hon. Dr.
'Aisake Valu Eke, held at St George Palace, Nuku’alofa, on Friday, 6 June 2025.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Tupouto‘a ‘Ulukalala, Cabinet Ministers, senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, as well as members of Lady Fakafanua’s family.
Lady Fakafanua shares a long-standing connection with India, having completed her Masters Degree with an M.A in Diplomacy Law and Business from Jindal School of International Affairs, O.P Jindal Global University. She brings with her a wealth of experience, deep cultural understanding, and a strong commitment to advancing meaningful cooperation between The Republic of India and the Kingdom of Tonga.
This appointment reflects the growing strength of bilateral relations and marks an important step
in deepening diplomatic, economic, and cultural collaboration between the two nations.
