North East Sea Turtles (NEST) Tobago
Charlotteville-based Sea Turtle Conservation CBO (Community Based Organization) It was officially registered in 2008.
NEST is a small-scale environmental community based organisation that aspires to protect the natural environment of the sea turtles in the North of Tobago. The group was formed in 2004 by Ms Patricia Turpin, Ms Heather Pepe, Ms Kitty Pepe and supported in its formation by founding members of Save Our Sea Turtles (SOS) Tobago Mr Gervais Alkins and Ms Tanya Clovis.

🐢 Florida Sea Turtle Nesting Season Update – August 31, 2025 🐢
Florida’s sea turtle nesting season is winding down, but August brought continued activity, and remarkable milestones!
🟤 Loggerheads remain the most common nester, with 100,860 nests recorded statewide. Totals remain lower compared to recent years.
🟢 Green turtles had a strong August, bringing the season total to 61,708 nests. While still behind the record 72,982 nests set in 2023, this is the second-highest green turtle total on record for Florida.
🔵 Leatherbacks have now reached 2,021 nests statewide, officially extending their record set last month. 2025 will be remembered as Florida’s top leatherback year to date!
🟡 Kemp’s ridley nests remain rare, but 10 have been confirmed so far in 2025.
🌴 Thank you to all the surveyors, volunteers, interns, and permit holders collecting this data and protecting nests across the state. Your work is the foundation of sea turtle conservation.

• Loggerhead: 100,860 nests
• Green Turtle: 61,708 nests
• Leatherback: 2,021 nests – New Record!
• Kemp’s Ridley: 10 confirmed nests
• Hawksbill: 0 nests
