𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗖 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

As Minister of Finance, I am proud to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the OPEC Fund Development Forum 2026 in Vienna, Austria, where global leaders, development partners and financial institutions are working together to build more resilient and prosperous societies.

My presence at this forum is part of the Kamla Persad-Bissessar Administration's strategic effort to create and strengthen international networks for economic cooperation, attract investment, and expand opportunities for sustainable growth and development in Trinidad and Tobago.

At the forum, I participated in high-level discussions on strengthening resilience in vulnerable communities, accelerating development through digital innovation, and unlocking opportunities across Latin America and the Caribbean.

I was also honoured to serve as a featured speaker at key roundtable discussions focused on expanding development and investment opportunities for our region and advancing support for climate-vulnerable Small Island Developing States.

In addition, I held productive bilateral meetings with leaders of the OPEC Fund, CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Saudi Export-Import Bank to explore new avenues for investment, development financing and strategic partnerships.

These engagements are creating tangible opportunities for Trinidad and Tobago through potential investment and development project pipelines, stronger collaboration with international development partners, and continued advocacy for fairer financing arrangements for small island states facing climate and economic vulnerabilities.

By building strategic relationships and expanding our international partnerships, we are positioning Trinidad and Tobago to access new sources of financing, unlock investment opportunities, and secure a more resilient and prosperous future for our people.
