The National Drug Council was established by Cabinet in July 2000.
Trinidad and Tobago established the National Drug Council, in accordance with the internationally recommended structure for a national entity, established by statute, and responsible for overseeing the implementation of all aspects of drug control. Photographs from the Breaking Cycles: Youth Voices on Justice and Prevention at the NALIS Library, Port of Spain. On September 17th, 2025, The National Drug Council, in collaboration with CICAD’s institutional strengthening unit, recognized the theme for UNODC: the evidence is clear – break the cycle and presented a copy of the diagnostic study on Gender in the Criminal Justice System in Trinidad and Tobago.

A delegation comprising key stakeholders of the National Drug Council of Trinidad and Tobago NDCTT and the Organization of American States Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission OAS CICAD participated in the Gender in Criminal Justice System GCJS workshop at the Ministry of Works and Transport on September 15th to 16th, 2025.
