Encounters With Wildlife

Fork-tailed Drongo (Dicrurus adsimilis).

Drongo is a common species which found in the region inhabiting a wide range habitat types including woodlands, areas of scrub and bush, lightly wooded Savannahs and Parks.

Drongo can often be seen perched on a brunch overlooking a clearing from where they hawk for insects which they capture in mid-flight.

The entire plumage is glossy black with a hint of brown on the edges of primary and secondary flight feathers.
The long, broad tail is deeply forked, less so in the female.

The eyes are deep red, the bill, and feet are black. The female is generally duller in appearance than the male.

The scorpion is mainly found in the Southern hemisphere in deserts and jungle habitats alike.
