MPOKI & ASSOCIATES ADVOCATES The firm was solo business having its business in Dodoma, Tanzania.

The firm of MPOKI & ASSOCIATES ADVOCATES traces its roots as far back as 6th January, 1991 when a firm in the name and style of MPOKI ADVOCATES was established. In 1998 the firm expanded and opted to open a branch in Dar es Salaam, a thing which necessitated the formation of a partnership known as MPOKI, NTONGE & MARY ADVOCATES, in January 1998. The partnership carried on business till on the 2nd

January, 2003 when one of Partners opted to pull out, necessitating a further change of name to MPOKI & ASSOCIATES ADVOCATES a name which is used to date. MPOKI & ASSOCIATES ADVOCATES is a firm of Advocates and is registered under the Registration of Business Names Ordinance Cap 213 and our registration number is 138977 we have an office situate at NIC Life House, 3rd Floor, Wing A, Room No. 16. Our other office is situate at Dodoma, Kuu Street, Fortis Building, Room No. 9. Apart from litigation in Courts of law, both in Criminal and Civil Matters, Labour matters and Insurance Claims inclusive. we also deal in other company matters such as liquidation, conveyance as well as receivership. We are currently working with the CRDB Bank Ltd of which we have maintained a relationship stretching as far back as 1994. Apart from CRDB, earlier we had worked with The Loans and Advances Realisation Trust (LART), Non Performing Assets under the former Ministry of Agriculture, Cooperative Department namely CRCU (1984) LTD, BUHA (1984) LTD, where we did recovery cases on their behalf and Sugar Development Corporation now Sugar Board of Tanzania, Kagera Cooperative Union (1990) LTD., Kagera Sugar Company, and National Insurance Corporation (T) Limited. Of late we have been commissioned with Stanbic Bank (T) Ltd to recover unsecured personal loans assignments which we are still doing. Our expertise in debt recovery cannot be underemphasized, as shown above, we have worked with CRDB Bank Ltd for about 13 years in several Debt Recovery and Receivership assignments. The said working relationship in debt recovery is wide, ranging from secured loans and overdrafts to unsecured loans and overdrafts. We have done substantial receivership assignments on their behalf of which the recovery has been truly commendable. As a result of dealing with both debt recovery (secured) and receivership we have been able to cultivate a very rich expertise in drafting mortgage deeds and other documents related to lending, chattel mortgage instruments and debentures. We also have the ability to perfect all the loan documents in all Land Registries in Tanzania as well as the Business Registration and Licencing Agency (BRELA) formerly the Registrar of Companies.

I wish we could have a stronger, bold, vibrant and uncompromising Judiciary, like the one in Kenya. A judiciary which will never allow anyone to trespass and or gatecrash on their constitutional mandate, a judiciary which knows in no uncertain term that they are co-equal partners with the other two pillars of the state in which none of the three pillar is stronger than the other.
