“Atakayetaka kusubiri (kufanya Subra) basi Allaah Atampa Subra.

THE RIGHT OF WOMEN IN ISLAM

Oppressed, inferior, and unequal – for many people, these are the first words that come to mind when thinking about women in Islam. These stereotypes confuse Islam with cultural practices and fail to recognize that Islam has empowered women with the most progressive rights since the 7thcentury. In Islam, women are not inferior or unequal to men. This brochure presents the actual teachings of Islam regarding the rights, roles, and responsibilities of women, with a special focus on gender equality in Islam.

At a time when female children were buried alive inArabiaand women were considered transferable property, Islam honored women in society by elevating them and protecting them with unprecedented rights. Islam gave women the right to education, to marry someone of their choice, to retain their identity after marriage, to divorce, to work, to own and sell property, to seek protection by the law, to vote, and to participate in civic and political engagement.

In 610 C.E., God began to reveal the message of Islam to Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him (pbuh), inMecca. Muhammad (pbuh) called people towards the belief in one God and encouraged them to be just and merciful to one another. In reforming the pagan Arab society, he particularly transformed their mindset regarding the treatment of women. Islam abolished the practice of killing female children and raised the stature of women in society to one of dignity, esteem, and privilege.

God devotes an entire chapter of the Quran, the holy book of Islam, to women. In addition, God directly addresses women repeatedly throughout the Quran. Islam proclaims that all human beings, men and women, are born in a pure state. The goal of every Muslim is to preserve this purity by shunning evil tendencies and beautifying their inner being with virtuous traits.

Islam further confirms that both men and women are equal in the sight of God. In the Quran, God declares, “…Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you…” (49:13) At another place in the Quran, God clearly states that all humans are equal: “To whoever, male or female, does good deeds and has faith, We shall give a good life and reward them according to the best of their actions.” (16:97)

While Islam clearly establishes that men and women are equal, it does recognize that they are not identical. God created men and women with unique physiological and psychological attributes. In Islam, these differences are embraced as vital components to a healthy family and community structure with each individual contributing their own distinctive talents to society.

Hence, God’s rules apply to both genders, but in diverse ways. For example, God commanded women to cover certain parts of their body, including their hair, to preserve their modesty. Men are also required to cover parts of their body out of modesty, but not in the same way as women. Therefore, God commanded both men and women to be modest; yet, the manner in which they observe it is different.

Similarly, the rights, roles, and responsibilities of women are evenly balanced with those of men but are not necessarily the same. As Islam has granted individual identities to men and women, a constant comparison between the two is futile. Each plays a unique role to mutually uphold social morality and societal balance.

The following overview details a wide range of women’s rights in Islam. It addresses some common misconceptions and provides insight into the diverse roles and responsibilities women fulfill in society. It must also be mentioned here that Muslims are not always representative of Islam and may follow their cultural influences or personal interests. In so doing, they not only disenfranchise women, they also go against the clear guidelines laid out in Islam regarding the treatment of women. Therefore, their practices go against the liberties and entitlements which Islam empowers women with, as shown below.

Education

Back in the 7th century, Muhammad (pbuh) declared that the pursuit of knowledge is obligatory on every Muslim – male and female. This declaration was very clear and was largely implemented by Muslims throughout history. One of the most influential scholars of Islam was Muhammad’s wife, Aisha. After his death, men and women would travel to learn from her because she was considered a great scholar of Islam. The recognition of female scholarship and women’s participation in academia has been encouraged and practiced throughout the majority of Islamic history. For instance, al-Qarawiyin Mosque and University, the oldest running university, was funded by a woman, Fatima al-Fihri, inMorocco in 859 C.E.

Motherhood

In Islam, God clearly gives mothers a high status and elevates their position in the family. In the Quran, God mentions all the sacrifices mothers make in bearing children to remind people to treat their mothers with love, respect, and care. Emphasizing the importance of mothers, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, “Heaven lies under the feet of your mother.”

On another occasion, a man repeatedly asked Muhammad (pbuh), “Who amongst the people is the most worthy of my good companionship?” Each time, the Prophet (pbuh) replied, “Your mother.” When the man asked for the fourth time, he replied, “Your father.”

Politics and Social Services

Among the early Muslims, women were active participants in the cohesive functioning of the society. Women expressed their opinions freely and their advice was actively sought. Women nursed the wounded during battles, and some even participated on the battlefield. Women traded openly in the marketplace, so much so that the second caliph, Umar, appointed a woman, Shaffa bint Abdullah, as the supervisor of the bazaar.

In Islamic history, women participated in government, public affairs, lawmaking, scholarship, and teaching. To continue to uphold this tradition, women are encouraged to actively participate in improving, serving, and leading the different aspects of the community.

Inheritance

Before Islam, women all across the globe were deprived of inheritance and were themselves considered property to be inherited by men. Islam gave women the right to own property and inherit from relatives, which was a revolutionary concept in the seventh century.

Whether a woman is a wife, mother, sister, or daughter, she receives a certain share of her deceased relative’s property. This share depends on her degree of relationship to the deceased and the number of heirs. While many societies around the world denied women inheritance, Islam assured women this right, illustrating the universal justice of Islam’s divine law.

Financial Responsibilities

In Islam, women are not obligated to earn or spend any money on housing, food, or general expenses. If a woman is married, her husband must fully support her financially and if she’s not married, that responsibility belongs to her closest male relative (father, brother, uncle, etc).

She also has the right to work and spend the money she earns as she wishes. She has no obligation to share her money with her husband or any other family members, although she may choose to do so out of good will. For instance, Khadija, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), was one of the most successful businesswomen ofMecca, and she freely spent from her wealth to support her husband and the cause of Islam.

At the time of marriage, a woman is entitled to a financial gift (dowry) from her husband. This dowry is legally owned by her and cannot be used by anyone else. In the case of divorce, she has the right to keep whatever she owned before the divorce and anything she personally earned after marriage. The former husband has no right whatsoever to any of her belongings. This ensures a woman’s financial security and independence, allowing her to support herself in the case of divorce.

Marriage

A woman has the right to accept or reject marriage proposals and her approval is required to complete the marriage contract. She cannot be forced to marry someone against her will and if this occurs for cultural reasons, it is in direct opposition of Islam. By the same principle, women also have the right to seek divorce if they are dissatisfied with their marriage.

In Islam, marriage is based on mutual peace, love, and compassion. God says about Himself, “And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy…” (Quran 30:21) Muhammad (pbuh) embodied the best character and is a role model for all Muslims. His example of being helpful around the household and treating his family with compassion and love is a tradition that Muslims strive to implement in their daily lives. Muhammad (pbuh) treated his wives with the utmost respect and honor and was never abusive towards them. One of his traditions clearly states, “The best of you are those who are best to their wives.”

Dignity and Protection from Harm

Any form of emotional, physical, or psychological abuse is prohibited in Islam and the improper treatment of women is no exception to this rule. Indeed, there is no teaching in Islam, when studied in its complete context, which condones any kind of domestic violence. Islam clearly disallows any form of oppression or abuse, according to Dr. Zainab Alwani, a leading female Muslim scholar. It cannot be stated enough times that anyone who exercises unjust authority in the name of Islam is actually doing so to uphold their own cultural influences or personal interests. All of God’s creation is dignified and protected under Islamic law.

Modesty

In an environment which constantly emphasizes the physical form through various media, women are constantly faced with an unattainable standard of beauty. Although Muslim women are falsely classified as oppressed based on their modest dress, they are in fact liberated from such objectification by the society around them. This modest appearance, which includes veiling, highlights a woman’s personality and character instead of her physical figure and promotes a deeper appreciation for who she is as a person. In this regard, Muslim women identify with Mary, the mother of Jesus (pbuh), who is known for her piety and modesty.

***

In conclusion, Islam has an extensive tradition of protecting the civil liberties of women based on the guidelines set forth by God and His Prophet. Women are empowered with many rights and protections under Islamic law and are honored with a dignified stature in society.

This is a Khutbah which was Given by one Sheikh from Kano (Nigeria)

What a touching KHUTUBAH please if time allows you read it.
It's worth a Reminder;

Forwarded as received.

"Every human is a slave. You're either a slave of your desires or a slave of Allāh. You either live life by your rules or the rule of Allāh.

How can the heart travel to God if it's chained by its desires?

O' son of Adam! Sell this World for the hereafter and you win both, sell the hereafter for this world & you lose both.
Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyah

Islam is not a buffet where you pick and choose what suits you. Don't obey your desires. Obey Allaah.
"Imprisoned is he, whose heart is imprisoned from Allāh. Captured is he, who is captured by his desires."

Fudayl Ibn Iyad was asked "What do you find the strangest of all things?" He said: The heart that knows Allāh, yet still disobeys Him 😢

Don’t miss Salāh for the sake of people. You were born & will die alone, you’ll go to the grave alone & be questioned alone on Judgment Day
1
Close friends, on that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous and God fearing..." •[Surah Az-Zukhruf:67]

Fajr you're asleep, Zuhur you're busy, Asr you're tired, Magrib you're watching tv, Isha you're eating. You can dodge prayer, but not death.

We prepare for uncertain matters in our life like marriage etc but do we prepare for the one event that is definitely going to happen

The first thing a slave will be held to account for is Salah. If we fall short on that, then we will fall short on what's to come.

Fajr: Do not fear missing sleep. Fear a day in which there will be no sleep.”😔

Expecting Paradise whilst neglecting Prayer, is like waiting for a train to arrive at the airport. Remember to pray Dhuhr

Everyone dreams to be in Jannah, but Allahﷻ says:
paradise is not obtained by your wishful thinking •[An-Nisa 4:123] hard 4 hereafter

"If you could hear the sound of the pens of the angels writing your name among those who remember Allāh, you'd die out of joy." -Ibn Al-Qayyim

This Dunya Is Not A Resting Place 👉It's A Testing Place! Good Deeds!

The world is a prison for the believer and a Paradise for the unbeliever". [Muslim] Your release here, sooner or later will be coming to an end.

Ibn Al-Qayyim (رحمه اللّٰه):
"He whom Allah has predestined to enter Paradise, the reasons which will cause his entrance shall spring from calamities;

He whom Allah has predestined to enter the Hellfire, the reasons which will cause his entrance shall spring from lusts”

Get used to a rough life, for luxury does not last forever. -Umar ibn Al Khattab

Do not be overly pleased by easy times. Verily, gold is tested for its purity by fire. Likewise,a righteous servant is tested by tribulations

It pains me to see born Muslims chasing the lifestyle of the disbelievers by drinking, clubbing, getting high etc.

Why do you think reverts run away from that life to the deen of Allāh. Run back to your Lord for His mercy overcomes His wrath.

How long will the person be happy with his worldly life?..Knowing that his ultimate home is the grave"

No matter how beautiful your face is, you will still be the food of worms when you are buried. Set aside your arrogance & remember your grave

Every single limb & organ in your body will speak up & bear witness against every action you committed in this Dunya
Not a word is said except that there is a watcher by him ready to record it.” [Surah Qaf:18] This includes all that you posted.

Hijab includes the way a person walks, talks, looks and thinks. All of it should be done modestly and applies to both men and women"

My dear sisters in Islam. Cover up for the sake of Allah before its too late as today you are over the soil but tomorrow you may be under it

Yes hijab doesn't necessarily indicate your level of piety BUT it is fard (a must). So regardless of what you say, you HAVE to wear it.

Make tawba (sincere repentance) not just for sins you've committed, but also for obligations you haven't fulfilled.” [Ibn Taymiyyah]

I pray that the comfort of our graves exceeds the comfort of our beds. 😢

We ask Allah سبحانه وتعالى to take our souls away when He's most pleased with us and make us of those who're always conscious of the Al-Gayb (unseen)

I WISH U ALL MUSLIMS,A NICE PREPARATION 4ZE COMING RAMADAN,may we win ze RAHMA,MAGHFIRA n TAWBA...and ALLAH mek dis month beneficial 2us as we win 2 see ze 9t of raylatul qadr!!!Aamiyn...

The End of the World : Coded in the Quran

We learn from the Quran that this world will come to an end.

"We have adorned everything on earth, in order to test them, and thus distinguish those among them who work righteousness. Inevitably, We will wipe out everything on it, leaving it completely barren" 18:7-8

"When the horn is blown once. The earth and the mountains will be carried off and crushed; utterly crushed. That is the day when the inevitable event will come to pass" 69:13-15

We also read in the Quran that a new earth and new heavens will replace the present heavens and earth.

"The day will come when this earth will be substituted with a new earth, and also the heavens, and everyone will be brought before GOD, the One, the Supreme" 14:48

Signs of the Approaching End of the World

The Quran provides various signs, and states that the means for unveiling the end of the world have been given.

"Are they waiting until the Hour comes to them suddenly? All the signs thereof have already come. Once the Hour comes to them, how will they benefit from their message?" 47:18

The signs given in the Quran include:

1- The splitting of the moon:

Shortly before the end of the world the moon will split. Some interpret this event to have already taken place when man landed on the moon and brought back moon rocks. Whether this is the correct meaning of 54:1 or not remains to be seen.

"The Hour has come closer, and the moon has split" 54:1

2- The Creature (27:82):

The Quran has predicted that at the right time God will produce a creature that will be instrumental in unveiling God's signs. This was fulfilled. The creature was the computer which was instrumental in unveiling the Quran's numerical code (19), and proclaiming that the world has neglected God's message.

"At the right time, we will produce for them a creature from the earth (made of earthly materials), declaring that the people are not certain about our revelations" 27:82

Note that the digits that make up 27:82 add up to 19.

Another piece of observation here is connected with the wording of the word "creature" (Dabbah) in 27:82 in comparison with other verses in the Quran.

We notice that all the other verses that connect the two words "creature" and "earth" always speaks of "creature in the earth" , for example:

"There is not a creature IN the earth whose provision is not guaranteed by God" 11:6

Scientifically speaking, we all live in the earth and not on the earth. That is because we live inside the earth's atmosphere, which is part of the earth. However, when we look at 27:82 we find the wording is deliberately changed to:

However, the deliberate use of the word from in"A creature from the earth" denotes that this creature is made of earthly materials.

As it happened, the computer was the tool to be used in counting all the thousands of figures and multiples of the miracle in the Quran.

Let us look at 27:82 and particularly at its mirror image of the Sura and verse numbers, the 27 becomes 72, and the 82 becomes 28. Verse 72:28 proclaims:

"He (God) has counted the numbers of all things"

3- The Smoke (44:10):

Occurs after God's Messenger of the Covenant has delivered the unified message and proclaimed Islam (Submission) as the only religion acceptable by God.

"Therefore, watch for the day when the sky brings a profound smoke." 44:10

4- Gog and Magog:

They re-appear, in accordance with God's plan, in the year 1700 AH (2271 AD). Gog and Magog are mentioned in 18:94 and 21:96. If you count the verses from 18:94 to the end of Sura 18, you find them 17. If you count the verses from 21:96 to the end of Sura 21, you find them also 17. This is the Quran's sign that Gog and Magog will re-appear in 1700 AH.

"They said, 'O Zul-Qarnain, Gog and Magog are corruptors of the earth. Can we pay you to create a barrier between us and them?" 18:94

"Not until Gog and Magog reappear, will they then return - they will come from every direction"21:96

It will not remain hidden

(20:15)

Verse 15 of Sura 20 informs us that the end of the world will be revealed by God before the end of the world:

"The Hour (End of the World) is surely coming, I will keep it almost hidden. For each soul must be paid for its works" 20:15

The Arabic words 'akad ukhfiha' in 20:15 mean "I will keep it almost hidden". These words are very significant. They mean that the date of the end of the world will be hidden till almost the very end, but will be revealed just before the end of the world.

The following example makes this matter clear:

"I ran in the marathon and I almost finished the race".

What these words mean is that I ran in the marathon and completed the majority of the distance but stopped very near the end of the race.

Verse 87 in Sura 15, gives the code to calculate the date of the end of the world:

"We have given you the seven pairs and the Great Quran" 15:87

The seven pairs are the 14 Quranic initials which are placed at the beginning of 29 Sura's in the Quran. The total gematrical value of these initials pinpoints the year of the end of the world. It is noteworthy that Verse 85 of Sura 15 states:

"...The end of the world will surely come to pass"

The next verse, 15-86, tells us that God is the Creator of this world, and, of course, He knows when it will end. The following verse, 15:87, tells us when the world will end.

"We have given you the seven pairs and the Great Quran" 15:87

1709

The gematrical values of "The Seven Pairs" of Quranic Initials total 1709. According to 15:87, the world will survive for 1709 lunar years from the time this prophecy is stated in the Quran. If we take the year 1 as the year this prophecy was given in the Quran, and that the world will survive for 1709 years, thus the world will end in the year 1710 AH.

This number is a multiple of 19 (1710 = 19 x 90).

The unveiling of this information took place in the year 1400 AH, 309 years before the prophesied end of the world (1709-1400 = 309). The number 309 is a Quranic number (18:25), and is connected with the end of the world (18:21). The peculiar way of writing 309 in 18:25, "Three hundred years, increased by nine", indicates that the 309 are lunar years. The difference between 300 solar years and 300 lunar years is 9 years.

The year of this discovery, 1400 AH, coincided with 1980 AD, and 1980 plus 300 solar years is 2280, also a multiple of 19, (19 x 120). Thus the world ends in 1710 AH, (19 x 90), which coincides with 2280 AD, 19x120.

While Hadith is forbidden as a source of religious teachings, it can be a useful source of history. We can derive a lot of information about historical events and local customs and traditions during the early centuries of Islam. The books of Hadith indicate that the Quranic Initials were believed to determine the life span of the Muslim Ummah. The classic exegesis by Al-Baydaawy cites the following historical event as a possible explanation of the Quranic Initials. The same event is detailed in Al-Suyooty's ITQAAN, First Printing, 1318 AH, Vol 2, Page 10:

The Jews of Medina went to the Prophet and said, "Your Quran is initialed with A.L.M., and these Initials determine the life span of your religion. Since 'A' is 1, 'L' is 30, and 'M' is 40, this means that your religion will survive only 71 years." Muhammad said, "We also have A.L.M.S." They said, "The 'A' is 1, the 'L' is 30, the 'M' is 40, and the 'S' is 90. This adds up to 161. Do you have anything else?" The Prophet said, "Yes, A.L.M.R." They said, "This is longer and heavier; the 'A' is 1, 'L' is 30, 'M' is 40, and 'R' if 200, making the total 271." They finally gave up, saying, "We do not know how many of
