Key outcomes:
✅ Agreement to protect fish breeding grounds, keeping them untouched to sustain our thriving fish populations.
✅ Plans to criminalize illegal fishing nets through new legislation to safeguard our aquatic ecosystems.
✅ Expansion of surveillance, with Lake Albert’s surface radar system set to roll out to Lake Victoria and beyond, boosting security and tackling illegal fishing.
The global fish market is massive, and Uganda is committed to protecting this vital resource for our communities and economy. 💪
