The Bukimbiri County Member of Parliament Hon. Eddie Kwizera Wagahungu maintains his parliamentary seat after high court in Kabale dismissed a case in which Owebeyi James was seeking nullification of the election.

High court in Kabale has dismissed with costs a case in which Owebeyi James the last candidate in the Bukimbiri County elections sued the electoral commission and Kwizera Eddie Wagahungu citing electoral irregularities.
In his petition Owebeyi states that the absence of the names of candidates made it difficult for voters to identify candidates hence non_compliance.

In their defense the 1st and 2nd respondent denied the accusations saying that party symbols and candidate photos were enough for the voters to identify the candidates.

In his ruling Judge Philip Odoki dismissed the case with costs citing failure by the petitioner to convince court on non_compliance.

This implies that Kwizera Eddie Wagahungu remains the legally elected candidate for Bukimbiri County Constituency.
By press time, Owebeyi James had not yet been contacted to know his next move.
