This Thursday, Ministry of Health officials and donor representatives from the Health Pooled Fund (HPF) programme have observed the dispatch of HPF’s 22nd distribution.
HPF has supported over 1,000 South Sudanese health facilities since 2012. With the medicines provided, they can ensure quality healthcare for all citizens of South Sudan with a particular focus on women and children. Consignment 22 (C22) will distribute medical supplies to 512 facilities across seven States.
HPF is funded by FCDO, USAID, the EU, Canada, GAVI and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). The programme is implemented by Crown Agents in partnership with Montrose International and IPA.

The Health Pooled Fund South Sudan warehouse in Juba has dispatched consignments in year 4 that included 36 Land Cruisers and 19 ambulances across to some of the hardest to reach, and often insecure areas.
These new vehicles replaced the oldest and least cost-effective. In addition, to ensure effective ‘last-mile’ deliveries, they also distributed and assembled 590 bicycles to Boma health workers in seven states, with the programme following up by allocating funds for bicycle repairs and spare parts.
Yesterday, South Sudan's Ministry of Health Under Secretary visited the warehouse to see the start of the distribution of the final consignment that is being delivered by the current HPF programme implemented by Montrose with Crown Agents and IPA. Accompanied by the British Ambassador and representatives from the embassies of Canada and Sweden, all contributing to the fund.
Montrose is proud to have been part of the HPF programme and to have been delivering health services and technical assistance across the health sector of South Sudan for almost a decade.
