The Kasese Centre conducted a women’s outreach in Kisaka Village, reaching 22 women from the Kisaka Catering United Group.

The women were sensitised to their legal rights to own property, including different forms of property ownership such as joint ownership by groups and the legal concept of gifts inter vivos.

The outreach also provided an opportunity for women to seek legal support. Two legal matters were registered, with one client receiving Basic Legal Advice (BLA), while a land dispute was identified for mediation.

Through community outreach, JCU continues to empower women with the knowledge and tools they need to understand and assert their legal rights.

Our Mengo team was hosted on Salt Tv where they shed light on the free legal services we provide to the community.

The discussion also tackled the pressing issue of domestic violence, highlighting the importance of awareness, support systems, and access to justice for survivors.
We remain committed to empowering communities through legal knowledge and support.

JCU Yumbe Centre (supported by 🇩🇰🇳🇱🇸🇪🇮🇪), conducted a community outreach at Nyaru Cell, Komila Ward, Ayivu Division in Arua City, reaching a total of 85 participants.

During the outreach, participants were sensitised on land rights, with a focus on promoting awareness and preventing land-related disputes within the community.

Such engagements continue to play a vital role in empowering communities with knowledge and ensuring access to justice for all.

JCU Yumbe successfully convened a Client Response and Support Network (CRSN) meeting at the Arua Chief Magistrate’s Court, bringing together key stakeholders to strengthen coordination in the delivery of justice and support services.

The meeting was attended by representatives from Care International, FIDA Uganda, Uganda Police Force, Uganda Human Rights Commission - UHRC, Uganda Prisons Service, Women Effort For Inclusive Development, Justice for Children, Office of The Director of Public Prosecutions, Redeem International, CERFORD, and the Uganda Law Society (ULS).

Together, we continue to foster collaboration and enhance access to justice for all.
