This is the official page of Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC),FormeRLY (UTV) the National Public Broadcaster for Uganda.

UTV was opened on 8th oct 1963 at 4.00pm, that was after Commisioning Mulago Hospital early in the day. UBC network has 4 television channels and 11 radio stations that offer broadcasting services in 27 languages across the country. In 2011 the Government approved the digital migration policy that gave rise to the creation of Signal Network limited (SIGNET) a Free to Air (FTA)signal distributor.

Dear members of the public, It is not true that all FTA channels are off.
It is true that some channels were disrupted.

Those that are failing to get any channels in their homes should search using Channel number 36 or MHZ 594.
Incase the channels on Frequency 36 fail, please adjust your Antenna for a stronger signal.

You should be able to receive more than 15 FTA channels that are available.

This works for people with inbuilt FTA or those with FTA decorders.

Fatal crash on Kampala-Gulu Highway at Kitaleba Village on Oct 22, 2025, at 12:15 am. 63 people died, several injured. Crash involved 4 vehicles in a chain reaction due to overtaking maneuvers. Police urge caution on roads, avoiding dangerous overtaking.
