Today, Uganda proudly flagged off its first-ever sea export of fresh Hass avocados to Spain. The container, valued at $40,000, represents a major breakthrough for the country’s agricultural exports. Spearheaded by Avotein Farms Ltd with support from NAADS, this achievement highlights the growing potential of Uganda's avocado industry on the global stage.

Speaking at the flag-off, NAADS Executive Director Samuel Mugasi hailed the moment as a key milestone in developing Uganda’s Hass avocado value chain. He encouraged farmers to embrace avocado cultivation, assuring them of Government of Uganda’s unwavering commitment through MAAIF to provide support at every stage of production and export.
