Snakes, simple outside, complex within,
A survival system, engineered to win.
No legs, no arms, yet movement's flow,
Organs aligned, a predator's glow.
Flexible jaws, a gaping space,
Swallowing prey, a calculated pace.
Fangs inject, venom's swift release,
Forked tongue tastes air, a scented peace.
The spine, a flexible chain, vertebrae galore,
Trachea extends, breathing remains sure.
One lung developed, one reduced in size,
Heart positioned, blood flows, efficient surprise.
Liver and stomach, digestion's mighty might,
Breaking down bones, fur, a slow, steady fight.
Intestines absorb, kidneys filter waste,
Cloaca, a single exit, nature's efficient haste.
The tail, a balance, movement's sway,
A reptile, specialized, in every way.
Not just a creature, without a limb,
A predator, built for patience, precision, and whim.
