Uganda Local Governments Association(ULGA)

o advocate for the interests of Local Governments and to contribute to the strengthening of local democracy, good governance and better service delivery. Our main partners are the Parliamentary Committee on Public Service and Local Governments, the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG), the Local Government Finance Commission (LGFC), the Urban Authorities Association of Uganda (UAAU), the Decentralization Development Partners and Civil Society. The Association is composed of five regions which are: Central, Eastern, Western, Northern and Karamoja with four regional representatives (a District chairperson, Chief Administrative Officer, Speaker and one Sub-County representative) sitting on the Executive Committee. The Executive is headed by the President supported by a vice president, who are both district chairpersons. The daily operations are run by a Secretariat of eighteen full-time staff, headed by a Secretary General.
