📸 The 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs, Rebecca Kadaga says she will traverse other EAC countries to appeal to them to make their financial contributions to the Community as required by the Treaty.

She said that currently, the EAC is run on contributions from only four countries: Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda.

"The others are not compliant as they should be, but I am planning to move to all capitals to make an appeal to ensure that money is found because they are partners and they enjoy the services but should also contribute," she said after vetting.

More than 40 nominees were vetted on Monday, and another bunch appears before the Committee on Appointments this Tuesday.

At the end of the exercise, the Speaker shall communicate to the President in writing, within three working days on the decision of the committee.

The Minister for Works and Transport, Hon. Fred Byamukama says his ministry's top priority in the new term is the completion of the Standard Gauge Railway from Kampala via Malaba to Kenya and the rehabilitation of the Meter Gauge Railway.
He also plans to ensure the completion of Mubende-Mityana Road, Mutukula Road and the Kampala-Jinja Expressway, among other pending projects.
