*NEXT* - *OF* - *KIN* in banking sector.
When death occurs, the *NEXT* - *OF* - *KIN* *WILL* *NOT* *HAVE* *ANY* *ACCESS* *TO* *THE* *MONEY* *IN* *DECEASED* *ACCOUNT* So many people think that their Next of kin is the automatic heir to their account.
But the truth is that if your next of kin is not a signatory to your account, and you don’t have a written will to determine that person’s legitimacy, the person will not have access to that money at all.
Your bank will have to go through a process called a *LEGAL* *PROBATE* .
This probate period helps them determine who gets the money in your account.
This is a very lengthy and expensive process.
Even after the whole process is done, your family will have to forfeit some reasonable amount of the money for legal fees. But if you want to avoid this , simply request for your bank to give you something called a POD form. POD stands for *PAYABLE* *ON* *DEATH* .
The name of the person you fill in that *POD* form will determine who will get your money.
All the person needs to bring is a death certificate to get that money out.
With a *POD* form, you will save your family the stress of going through all that lengthy legal process and even loosing some money to the law.
I thought I should inform everyone coz information is power

The Fall of General Muntu: The Power of Childhood Bonds
General Muntu was a man of great stature, feared and respected in equal measure. He had commanded countless troops in battle, issued orders that shaped the fate of nations, and stood above all his subordinates in both rank and presence. His word was law, his uniform immaculate, and his authority unquestionable.
One fateful afternoon, during an inspection of a military training ground deep in the forest, the unexpected happened. As he strode confidently across the terrain, the ground beneath him gave way, and he plunged into a deep, narrow pit.
The soldiers surrounding him gasped in horror. They rushed to the edge of the pit, peering down at their revered leader. The walls were steep, the soil loose, and their efforts to pull him up proved futile. The ropes they had weren’t long enough, and their attempts to climb down risked making the pit collapse further.
Despite their desperate attempts, one problem remained—none of them dared to order General Muntu on how to help himself. He was their superior, their commander. In their world, rank dictated every action, and no one could give orders to the man who stood above them all.
Realizing they were at an impasse, one of the soldiers hesitated before suggesting, "Sir, perhaps we should call Sergeant Kolo?"
Murmurs ran through the crowd. Sergeant Kolo was an exceptional soldier, but what made him the best choice wasn’t just his skill—it was his past. He and General Muntu had been classmates in secondary school.
When Kolo arrived, he looked down at Muntu and, without a second thought, burst into laughter. “Muntu, you still can’t watch where you’re going, eh?”
For the first time in years, the General heard someone call him by his first name without a salute or a rigid stance. The soldiers held their breath, waiting for a reprimand. Instead, General Muntu let out a chuckle.
"Get me out of here, Kolo," he said, his voice stripped of rank, filled only with familiarity.
Kolo didn’t hesitate. He gave Muntu direct instructions, not caring about his stars or stripes. The moment rank was forgotten, the solution became clear. Kolo guided him to wedge his boots against a firm section of the pit, threw down a rope, and with a strong pull, the once unreachable General was hoisted to safety.
As he dusted himself off, Muntu looked at his men and said with a smirk, “Sometimes, when you rise too high, only those who knew you before the climb can truly lift you up.”
The Power of Classmates at a Young Age
That day, the soldiers learned an unexpected lesson—while ranks define authority, true bonds transcend them. Classmates from childhood share something deeper than titles: a connection built on shared memories, laughter, struggles, and youthful innocence. Unlike colleagues, who might hesitate due to hierarchy, childhood friends see beyond status and titles.
Sergeant Kolo didn’t see a General in the pit; he saw the same Muntu he had once shared food with, competed against in school games, and studied with late into the night. Their bond reminded everyone that no matter how powerful or successful one becomes, the people who knew you in your early years will always be the ones who can truly reach you when no one else can.
Because classmates don’t salute—they rescue.

INTERNSHIP AGENCY UGANDA (SMC) LIMITED is an online program that was started to provide both current students and recent graduates with Internship, Volunteering, Research and Work Experience in Government through PPP, None Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) and the Private Sector through Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) across Uganda / East Africa.
We carried out research in universities and found out that there is no clear framework that link students to internship placements across the country.
It’s against this back ground that we have identified internship placements across the country. We link students and recent graduates to their respective field of interest in Government institutions, NGO’s and the Private sector through this platform www.internshipagencyug.com. All applications are made online.
