During my tenure as Executive Director of the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, I witnessed first-hand the impact of Dr. Jane Goodall’s tireless commitment to chimpanzee welfare. Her vision and advocacy gave strength to our work, improving care standards, inspiring education programs, and elevating our Centre as a voice for conservation.

Her legacy goes beyond chimpanzees, it is about compassion, courage, and the belief that every act of kindness matters. I honor her extraordinary life and lasting impact.

I invite you to take a critical look at our newly released report; “An Assessment of the Cost and Extent of in Recruitment by the District Service Commissions in Uganda,” produced by the Inspectorate of Government in collaboration with the Economic Policy Research Centre at Makerere University.

This report exposes how corruption continues to distort recruitment processes in our public service, draining resources, undermining meritocracy, and eroding trust in institutions.

The findings are a wake-up call. Every unfair appointment comes at the cost of efficiency, accountability, and service delivery to citizens.

I urge you to read it, reflect deeply, and join us in demanding and fairness in how our public servants are recruited. A corruption-free system begins with how we choose the people entrusted to serve Uganda.

I was accompanied by my deputies Ms. Anne Twino Muhairwe and Dr Patricia Achan Okiria to a meeting with H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda to discuss matters of national priorities, including preparations for the upcoming EAAACA Annual General Meeting scheduled for 20th November 2025.
EAAACA is a regional body that brings together member states; Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Somalia, and Djibouti to strengthen cooperation in the fight against corruption through sharing knowledge, strategies, and innovations.

This year, Uganda has the privilege of hosting the AGM under my leadership as President of the Association. During our meeting yesterday, I formally extended an invitation to His Excellency to deliver the Keynote Address at the opening ceremony. His leadership on anti-corruption and governance issues is widely recognized across the region, and EAAACA members are eager to hear from him as a key driver of the East African integration and accountability agenda.

This AGM is more than a regional gathering is a platform to reaffirm our collective commitment to transparency, good governance, and the rule of law. Hosting this meeting in Uganda is both a test to our progress and a significance of our shared responsibility in building corruption-free societies across Eastern Africa.

We were honoured to host the Bishop of Abuja Diocese and his wife during their visit to the Mothers’ Union at Martyr's Church, Natete.
There is power in fellowship, unity, and shared purpose in strengthening families and communities across the Anglican Communion. Such visits not only deepen our spiritual bonds but also inspire us to continue our mission of faith, service, and empowerment.
