On September 6, 2018, Amber Guyer—an off-duty patrol officer in Dallas—entered the apartment of 26-year-old accountant Botham Jean. She later said she thought it was her own apartment and mistook Jean for a burglar, shooting and killing him.
One year later, on October 1, 2019, she was found guilty of murder. On October 2, she was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Botham Jean’s brother Brandt was allowed to give a victim-impact statement, and he addressed Amber Guyer directly.
The result was a beautiful Christian testimony—truly salt and light in a dark and twisted world.
If you truly are sorry, I can speak for myself, I forgive, and I know if you go to God and ask him, he will forgive you.
And I don’t think anyone can say it—again I’m speaking for myself—but I love you just like anyone else.
And I’m not gonna say I hope you rot and die just like my brother did, but I presently want the best for you.
And I wasn’t going to ever say this in front of my family or anyone, but I don’t even want you to go to jail. I want the best for you, because I know that’s exactly what Botham would want you to do.
And the best would be to give your life to Christ.
I’m not going to say anything else.
I think giving your life to Christ would be the best thing that Botham would want you to do.
Again I love you as a person and I don’t wish anything bad on you.
I don’t know if this is possible, but can I give her a hug, please?
Please?

“The diagnosis alone for pancreatic cancer was devastating. I just felt there was no hope. I really felt there was no hope at that point.” In 2013 Beverly Dunn’s husband, Tony was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Beverly is a nurse and knew the odds of long-term survival were slim. She says, “Usually when pancreatic cancer is found, it’s found way too late. I didn’t really see an outcome for it other than death from this earth.”

Avengers: Endgame in some ways resembles a Wagnerian opera with a lot of good and some annoying bad, as well as, several loose plot points and self-referential nods to previous Marvel movies.
The opening is one of the best movie openings in a long time, and the ending is emotionally powerful. In fact, in many ways, the movie expresses the most important rule in filmmaking, which is to touch the audience’s emotions with very sad scenes, as well as, very funny scenes, keeping the audience intrigued for much of the movie. That said, some of the false threads should have been cut, and the movie would have been reduced to a much more reasonable, compact, and more compelling time frame.
In the previous Avengers movie, Infinity War, the evil, crazed environmentalist, Thanos, obtained all the ultra-powerful “Infinity Stones” and snapped his fingers, killing half of all the sentient creatures in the universe.

Plot point after plot point, character arc after character arc, motivation after motivation leads to the final battle. Who will win? Who will die?
Avengers: Endgame has one unified plot with many characters and themes merging into it. In the interest of finding the emotional moment in each scene, some of the plot points are unresolved and some of the storylines are left hanging. At one point in the movie, this gets to be tedious and may be confusing if you haven’t seen all the previous Marvel movies up to now. That said, the good outweighs the bad. But, Avengers: Endgame has a lot of foul language, including strong blasphemies, intense action violence, and other immoral content that warrant extreme caution.
On the good side, family is of prime importance in the movie’s main storyline. Also, people are respected as equals, and individual life is appreciated. Patriotism, freedom, and free enterprise are portrayed in a strong positive light as in previous movies.
On the negative side, some children are taught to curse. Even Captain America curses, even though it doesn’t ring true to his character from previous movies. Avengers: Endgame also contains strong references to witchcraft and a gratuitous, annoying reference to perversity in one scene. Eventually, some important relationships come to naught. Also, it becomes clear that some beloved characters aren’t going to appear in the next Marvel movie unless it’s in a flashback. Most annoying to one reviewer was the constant nods to political correctness.
Marvel has developed a good formula. They just need a little more attention to detail. Clearly, they love families. So, they should avoid getting edgy and using so much foul language, since it alienates the very people they want to reach.
Some of the reviewers thought Marvel has reached its summit. If so, they’re sowing the seeds of alienating the huge audience they’ve built up in the past 22 movies, not counting the first three Spider-Man movies released by Sony. However, there have been filmmakers and studios that looked like they were peaking, then they self-corrected and went on to greater achievements.

PricillaShirer
Evangelist, author, and actress Priscilla Shirer is urging women to avoid seeking their value through their social media profiles and turn to Jesus instead.
“It’s so easy for us as humans to attach our significance and value into things that can so easily fade and are temporal, whether that’s a job and upward mobility career-wise, or a certain demographic or group of people,” Shirer told The Christian Post. “When those things fade or no longer appreciate, applaud, celebrate, or include us, we can be decimated because we’ve attached our significance to those things. So, it’s about re-centering our priority and rooting it in who we are in Christ in the same way.”
She says the first step towards realizing your true value is by knowing how much value God puts in you.
“We have an inheritance, we are not rejected, we are chosen, we are not unforgivable, nothing we’ve done is beyond the mercy and grace of God. We are forgiven and we are redeemed. All of these things have been given to us, and so we can access them,” she explained.
Shirer encourages people to renew their mind with biblical truth.
“That’s why God says in the Scriptures, ‘Meditate on my Word’,” she said. “It’s not just so you can have it memorized; it’s so that your mind will be changed and you’ll start living out of a place that is congruent with your identity in Christ instead of the erroneous identity that we’ve been cementing, through either words that we’ve said to ourselves or words that are being spoken to us from other people.”
Shirer is the daughter of evangelist Tony Evans, head of Going Beyond Ministries, a busy wife, and mother of three boys.
She told CBN News how she finds peace and confidence in the Lord.
“I constantly remind myself that we have an anchor. And an anchor is literally what holds you steady, even when the waves are pushing you to the left or the right.” she said.
“We are supposed to drop the anchor, really down deep in God’s word and in prayer. And when we do, it keeps us steady and it keeps us from having to strive so hard in our own power to keep ourselves from being shifted too far to the left or the right.”
“There is a lot of peace in God’s word and in God’s presence.”
