Empowering the next generation starts with giving them a voice.
Today in Jinja, our team at Action For Humanitarian Initiatives Uganda engaged pupils from Nabilama and Nanfugaki Primary Schools in an impactful training focused on children’s rights and protection. Through interactive sessions and energizing activities involving school children, teachers, police officers, and trainers, the learners were empowered to speak up, share their experiences, and understand the importance of safeguarding their rights.
It was truly inspiring to witness the excitement, courage, and curiosity of these young minds as they discussed real challenges affecting children in their communities.
Our Jinja office continues to play a vital role in strengthening child protection efforts across the Busoga region because every child deserves to be heard, protected, and empowered. 💙

Healing, learning, and earning 🧺✨
Women in Nakivale Refugee Settlement received group therapy sessions that created a safe space for healing, confidence building, and renewed hope. Through the Protect, Empower Women and Girls Project, supported by and the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund, they later gained skills in weaving baskets as a pathway to sustainable livelihoods.
Today, these women are using their creativity and skills to earn an income, support their families, and rebuild their lives with dignity. What started with emotional support has grown into economic empowerment and resilience.
At Action For Humanitarian Initiative (AFHI), we believe that when women are supported to heal and empowered with practical skills, they can transform their future and strengthen their communities.

Women’s voices matter in shaping peace and security.
Our Executive Director of Action For Humanitarian Initiative (AFHI) participated in the National Conference on dissemination of key findings from Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda projects and discussions on Regional Action Plan II (RAP II).
The conference brought together government ministries, civil society, and development partners to share progress and strengthen collaboration in advancing the WPS agenda in Uganda.
A key message stood out clearly, the next phase of WPS is about action, measurable results, and sustainable impact, ensuring local perspectives shape policies and interventions that affect communities directly.
At AFHI, we remain committed to empowering women and girls as active agents of peace, resilience, and sustainable development.
Together, we continue building inclusive solutions that leave no one behind.
