A common concern for people facing an early diagnosis of dementia is a loss of independence; a feeling that, by receiving help, you will lose control and your sense of self. EverTrue believes that asking for support when you need it can help you maintain your independence longer. By making care plans now for your changing needs, you retain control.
EverTrue GUIDE (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience) provides a dementia care navigator who will provide support services to help you and caregivers manage dementia progression and help you stay in your home and community longer. Plus, EverTrue’s innovative StillYou® philosophy will guide your support, because we focus on you and who you are. It’s Juneteenth — the day we commemorate the abolition of slavery in the United States. Also known as Emancipation Day and Freedom Day, it celebrates freedom for all and honors the perseverance of African Americans, as well as the ongoing journey toward racial equality.
As a faith-based organization, we recall the words of Paul, “For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)
May we embrace those words and remain ever true to the call for freedom and justice.

In Missouri, 11.2% of adults over 65 are diagnosed with Alzheimer's. During the month of June, EverTrue commits to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s, as well as other neurodegenerative diseases, and to promote brain health to reduce the risk of dementia in honor of Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month.
Our experts regularly share with our residents the dementia risk factors they can control, including hypertension, obesity, diabetes, smoking, physical inactivity and poor sleep. In Missouri, 38.8% of adults have two or more risk factors (not including sleep). Do you have any of these that you can speak to your doctor about?
EverTrue is dedicated to healthy aging. This Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month, we hope you’ll take part in free, virtual wellness sessions to help you “take charge of your brain health” brought to you by our partners at the Alzheimer's Association.

Our Wellness Nurse, Lauren, and Provident Counselor, Nikki Adams, recently hosted a wonderful “Accentuate the Positive” Tea Event for our residents. Residents enjoyed an afternoon of socializing over tea and desserts while listening to an inspiring discussion on the power of positivity. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect, reflect, and focus on the importance of maintaining a positive mindset. Thank you to Lauren and Nikki for creating such a thoughtful and uplifting experience for everyone involved! 🍰

Happy Senior Health and Fitness Day! Did you know it is recommended that older adults (with physician approval) engage in 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity plus muscle-strengthening activities at least twice a week?
This doesn’t mean you need to do vigorous aerobics classes or lift heavy weights at the gym. Brisk walking, hiking and swimming are all excellent examples of aerobic activities, while exercises like chair squats or using resistance bands can make a significant difference in helping maintain strength and physical function.
EverTrue wants to keep our residents and clients physically active in the way that works best for them! Find out why staying physically active has so many health benefits for older adults: https://ow.ly/W4Er50YUFOm
