What a special day I got to have at Mountain Ridge Country Club for the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association’s 73rd National Awards Dinner.
I got to play golf with an incredible group of people, and be part of an event that celebrates the stories, history, and people who make golf what it is—while supporting meaningful scholarship and charitable work throughout the game.
The event made me realize why golf is so special to me despite it being so difficult and causing me a lot of anguish. Golf has the ability to build incredible traits in a person and is the number one sport i would encourage a young person to learn. It reminds me a lot of entrepreneurship and the discipline/resilience it takes to be successful. I think golf is the game that takes us out of our phones and into a beautiful environment where we can break away from our pocket overlords. Its important to get out of the constant noise, and into a good headspace. You’re outside, present, talking to people face-to-face, making decisions, adjusting when things do not go your way, and focusing on the next shot instead of replaying the last one.
That mirrors building a business more than people realize. You need patience, discipline, confidence, and the ability to keep moving forward when you hit one in the trees.
Then it was back to New York City and back to the Bogeys Beef hustle. 🚂 🐔🌆
Most days, I’m building this brand from behind a desk and a computer so getting out into a different environment reminds me why I love sales. Put me in the chicken suit, put a little beef in my bag, and I’m ready to go “taking it to the streets”.
It gets some looks. That’s the point. I’m not worried about blending in—I’m focused on being myself, having fun, MEATING people, and finding new ways to keep building Bogeys Beef. And thats exactly what im doing 🧱by🧱 ASIDE FROM THE BUSINESS ASPECT, wearing a chicken suit in NYC or any city is a lot of fun 😂 📈
From Mountain Ridge to Manhattan: keep it moving, keep hustling, eat more beef.
