This Saturday! AHHH!!

I'm so excited to participate in this event (although, wildly nervous as well! 😆). There are so many cool vendors and speakers at this show. Its going to so much fun! If you are in the area - you definitely need to stop by!

Rick .plants and I are speaking in the morning. Bex .botany and Michael are speaking in the afternoon. Plus the Carnivorous Plant Awards and...did I mention the vendors!?

I can't wait to chat with EVERYONE! See you all there!

We've been busy harvesting and packaging fresh Nepenthes seeds, and they're officially available on our website!

Gertie's been busy! 👀🌱

We've been harvesting LOTS of fresh Nepenthes seeds over the last few days, including several pure truncata crosses and some fun hybrids!

Well, this is happening!

In a couple of weeks, I’m heading to Maryland for the 2026 MACPS Plant Show — and I’ll be giving a talk!
Growing Nepenthes Where They Don’t Belong: Lessons from a High Desert Greenhouse
Growing tropical pitcher plants in the high desert of New Mexico has been a bit of an experiment from the beginning. There’s been a lot of trial and error, plenty of things that haven’t gone according to plan, and quite a few surprises along the way.
I’ll be sharing some of what I’ve learned about growing Nepenthes outside of their “ideal” conditions — and why I’ve come to think these plants are a whole lot more adaptable and resilient than we sometimes give them credit for.
If you’re going to be at the MACPS Plant Show on October 17th, come say hi! I’d love to meet some of you in person.
And now I just have to get up in front of a room full of carnivorous plant people and talk for 25 minutes. No pressure. 😆

BBQ and plants? Honestly, I'm not sure we need anything else.

We’ll be hanging out at the Albuquerque Elks Lodge #461 this Friday for their BBQ Cook-Off + Plant Sale/Swap!

Pearl River Exotics will be there with a selection of carnivorous plants for sale, and our friends from Blue Tiger Orchids will be there too! There will also be plants to swap, plenty of BBQ, and even a petting zoo—because apparently this event has decided to be a little bit of everything. 😂

I’ve been spending the day pulling plants for Sunday and apparently my definition of “I’ll just bring a nice little selection” has gotten slightly out of hand.

I’ll be at the Trail Rider Block Party this Sunday, Sept. 20 from 12–5 with Nepenthes, Pings, Sarracenia, sundews, and a ridiculous number of Venus flytraps.

If you’ve been curious about carnivorous plants, come find me! I’m always happy to talk plants and help you find something that will work for you.

East Mountains and Albuquerque friends — we’re popping up close to home!

We’ll have a selection of carnivorous plants available, and Trail Rider will have food & drinks, local vendors, and live music throughout the afternoon. 🍕🎶🌱

ONE WEEK! We're bringing the weird plants to Cedar Crest next Sunday!

Pearl River Exotics will be at the Cedar Crest Sunday Market on August 30 from 12–4 PM, with a big selection of carnivorous plants.

We'll have Venus flytraps, pitcher plants, sundews, butterworts, handmade mixed carnivorous plant pots, and some larger specimen plants coming along too.

Never grown a carnivorous plant before? Come talk to me! I'll help you find something that works for your space and show you how to keep it happy.

The market itself is going to be huge — 50+ artisan & produce vendors, food trucks, live music, belly dancing, sword dancing, a petting zoo and more.
