🐾 Principal Spirit Week: A Day-by-Day Celebration! 🐾
🐺 The Leader of Our Pack! 🐺

Join us October 26–30 as we celebrate Principal Bennink and the care, leadership, and support he brings to Washington Mill Elementary!

Our week of appreciation includes paw-sitive messages, school spirit, a special cheer, treats, and a schoolwide clap-out. Families can join in by encouraging their child to share a kind note or favorite memory with Principal Bennink. 💙

Thank you for helping us celebrate our principal and our school community!

One Pack. One Leader. Endless Appreciation! 💙🐺

Meet Ms. Lambert, one of our wonderful first-grade teachers! 🍎
This is her fourth year at Washington Mill and her sixth year in education. She loves working with children and especially enjoys teaching phonics and letter sounds—the building blocks of reading and writing.
Ms. Lambert makes learning fun and brings warmth and care to her classroom. She loves seeing her students grow throughout the year, and we’re so glad she’s part of the WMES community! 💙🐺

📚❤️ Growing readers takes a community!
At Washington Mill, we’re supporting Dr. Reid’s call to build a community of readers and FCPS’ goal that every student reads on grade level by the end of 3rd grade.
Our Wolf Pack is checking out books and building a love of reading! 3rd grade leads the school with 1,179 checkouts, and Mr. Kyalo’s class leads the way with 397 circulations! 🎉🐺
Families, you’re part of this work, too! Read together, talk about books, and ask your child what they’re reading. Every conversation helps make reading visible and valued.
📖 What book is your family enjoying? Share in the comments!

Learning Comes Alive Through Collaboration in Mr. Kyalo's 2nd grade class! 🌿🐾
After exploring plant and animal habitats, students teamed up to create colorful postcards. Their illustrations and writing showed how habitats provide the food, water, shelter, and space living things need to survive.
We loved seeing science, literacy, teamwork, and creativity come together! 🎨📬

The 6th graders in Ms. Pubill’s class are having fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! 🇲🇽🇵🇷🇨🇺 Through learning, exploring, and celebrating diverse cultures, our students are discovering the beauty of our differences and the connections that bring us together.

✨ Celebrating culture, embracing diversity, and building a stronger community—one lesson at a time! ❤️🌎
