OWN A LOCAL BUSINESSS? PLEASE READ!

Introducing our local business partner program!
It's not easy bringing in volunteers at the Fire District. They get no pay and respond 24 hours a day for our community. They might be having dinner with family/friends or at a sports game with their children. They put fuel and maintenance costs into their own vehicles for the good of our community. They come in on their day off to train and perfect skills needed to get the job done right.
How do we recruit volunteers for our department? It's not easy and could use your help! We have created a program where local businesses can offer a discount to our volunteers. If you own a local business, please consider becoming a part of this program so we can create extra incentives for recruits to come on board. Choose your own discount and when a volunteer shows up at your business, they will show you their department ID.
Together, we can build a stronger, safer Star Valley.

SUPPORT THOSE WHO SERVE OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY!

Thank you to the following businesses that have already supported:

Green Turf Lawnscapes
Yankee Doodles
Alpine alternative health
4J enterprises, dba Wild West auctions
Gray Bear productions

Alpine Fire District volunteers are always training and refining our skills so when the community needs us, we are ready. We would like to take the time to thank all of our volunteers for their dedication and hard work taking time away from their families to improve these skills.

On this night we had ladder training. Our new Quint 75' ariel ladder is an impressive piece of apparatus. It can provide elevated rescue, an elevated waterway, multiple cutting devices, multiple ground ladders and many tools to assist in our assignments. Our community is very fortunate to have apparatus like this, and when the need arises, WE WILL BE THERE!

Stay safe this fall season!

This morning at 4:52am Alpine Fire District responded to a vehicle vs. elk (2) at the 116 on Highway 89 as you enter Alpine from Star Valley. Alpine Fire responded with rescue 2 and four personnel. Alpine Fire assisted Star valley EMS with one patient and minor injuries. Alpine Fire is currently on scene cleaning up the roadway. Please take caution when entering Alpine as it still is an active scene. Alpine Fire would like to thank star Valley, EMS, Lincoln County, sheriff department, and the Wy highway patrol for their help.
Please take extreme caution this time of year when traveling as wildlife frequently crosses the highway.

Yesterday Alpine Fire District responded to a stranded motorist on the lakebed stuck in the mud. What made this interesting and why Alpine Fire was needed is because the solo driver of the vehicle had got his prosthetic leg stuck in the mud and could not leave his vehicle. The stranded motorist called the Fire District directly and since we love to help our community, we went. It was an interesting recovery, but we were able to retrieve the leg and the vehicle without incident or injuries. Please be aware when traversing the lake bed that there are sections extremely muddy like quick sand and avoid wet areas as much as possible. We also recommend that persons recreating take a partner with them in case of emergency.

This morning at 7:25am Alpine Fire District was paged to a 2 vehicle accident at approximately mile marker 111 on US Highway 89 (Nordic Ranch junction). Alpine Fire responded with Rescue 2, Engine 5, Engine 2, and 8 personnel. Alpine Fire assisted Star Valley EMS in getting the injured patients to ambulances and also provided an interpreter. Alpine Fire also assisted in clean up and traffic control. We would like to thank Star Valley EMS, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Lincoln County Sherriff, and all of the volunteers that took time away from their morning and work schedules to help our community.
Alpine Fire has their thoughts and prayers with the injured persons and hopes for a speedy recovery.
Please drive safe folks and be careful when entering the highway.

Alpine Fire District was paged out at 6:20 this morning with reports of a vehicle that went through the guardrail and into the river at mile marker 131 on Hwy 89 in the Snake river canyon. Alpine Fire responded with Rescue 2, Engine 5, Ladder 1 and Brush 6. Alpine Fire was also able to get an immediate size up of the incident as one of our volunteers was traveling up the canyon at the time of the call. Unfortunately upon arrival the occupant of the vehicle had already succumbed to their injuries. Alpine Fire was able to transport the victim with our rescue raft to the boat ramp and assist in clean up of the scene and removal of vehicle.

The crew at Alpine Fire Wyoming shares their thoughts, prayers, and support for community members and families affected by this tragic loss.

We want to thank Star Valley EMS, Star Valley Search and Rescue, Wyoming Highway Patrol, and The Lincoln county Sheriff’s office for the coordinated efforts.

We also want to thank our volunteers and their families who step up to the needs of our community. As a friendly reminder, please drive safe.
