LOCATION OF ARREST: Amsterdam, NY

NAME AND ADDRESS OF ARRESTEE(S):
Matthew Moller AGE: 43
Hagaman, New York 12086

NAME AND CLASSIFICATION OF CHARGES (F/M/V):
1. Grand Larceny 3rd (D-FELONY)

ARRAIGNMENT/BAIL STATUS: Moller was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court in front of the Honorable Judge Lisa Lorman and was released on his own recognizance to reappear in court at a later date under the provisions of New York State’s bail reform.

INCIDENT NARRATIVE: In September of 2025, the Amsterdam Police Department received a complaint regarding possible tax fraud. The complainant advised that Moller was hired to file taxes on their behalf, and they later noticed irregularities in their tax return including funds missing. Amsterdam Police Detectives consulted with members of New York State Tax and Finance and concluded that Moller fraudulently obtained funds from in tax returns that he was not entitled to. Following multiple interviews an arrest warrant was applied for and issued by the Honorable Judge Lisa Lorman for Moller’s arrest. Moller was located on Thursday October 15th and taken into custody without incident. Moller was transported to the Amsterdam Police Department where he was processed and held for arraignment.

The Amsterdam Police Department was assisted by New York State Tax and Finance and the Office of the Montgomery County District Attorney Christina Pearson in this investigation, the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges and arrests are possible.

While there was probable cause for this arrest, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

🚨 HELP NEEDED ASAP! 🚨

My niece ordered her homecoming dress, and it was supposed to arrive today, but the shipment has now been delayed another 2 days. 💔 Her first homecoming is TODAY, and it starts at 6 PM!

She is absolutely devastated, and it breaks my heart seeing her so upset over something that was completely out of her control. 🥺❤️

I’m reaching out to see if anyone has a homecoming dress they would be willing to lend or sell. She wears a size SMALL.
