Residents on East Chestnut street recently had an Echo-brand, black and orange, w**d trimmer and leaf blower stolen from outside their home. If you have any information regarding this theft or the items' location, we would greatly appreciate your assistance.

The owner will not press charges if the items are returned.

Citizens of Anna, please be cautious when you are outside for the next few weeks. Our national weather service has issued another Extreme Heat Warning for our area. We will be experiencing temperatures above 100 in the day and mid to upper 70's at night. Please review the following flyer and remember to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities, and check on elderly family and neighbors.

Our Police Department lobby is open 24 hours a day if you need to cool off.

Citizens of Anna we are bringing two new fraud warnings for your safety:

First, a new scam is coming through Facebook notification emails advising people they are being charged for purchasing adult materials. The scam then instructs individuals to call their phone provider to fix the issue and provides a link to call.
This link connects you to the scam artists who claims to work for the FTC, demands cash via wire, and claims they will provide you with new documents to clear your identity fraud.
Please reach out to your friends, family, and neighbors and warn them of this new scam. Remind them that any link, including a phone number, should not be trusted even if it comes from a known sender.

The second new fraud is check thefts from the mail. Please keep an eye on any checks you send in the mail that they arrive at their intended destination and you are only charged for the amount you sent. Again, please warn your friends, family and loved ones about this issue.

If you are missing a set of keys with a carabiner from Kohler Street, please contact our department. A set of keys was turned in to our lost and found today by a good citizen. Please bring a photo of the keys or be able to describe them in order to retrieve them.

Please be on the lookout for a local resident: Marsha Morgan. She drives a white jeep with Illinois plate DH23722.
Ms. Morgan last contacted her family at noon today (7/12) and made several concerning statements.
If you see her or her vehicle, please do not approach. Call 911 or the Union County non-emergency number and provide the location.
