Our Story
The Santa Cop Program is a 30 plus year community effort by the Arlington Police Association Foundation and Arlington Police Department in conjunction with the Arlington Independent School District to provide a memorable Christmas for children in Arlington. The program has evolved from police officers providing Christmas trees, food and gifts to families in their beat to providing toys and supplies for over 400 families and more than 1200 children a year.
The Santa Cop Program currently identifies needy families through the social workers and counselors at targeted AISD elementary schools. A party is provided for these families at the Arlington Convention Center where refreshments, good cheer, gifts, and even Santa is on hand to provide for a festive time. Groupings of schools are provided their very own party time so that each party is specialized for that group.
